On a happy note, the check up went great. The babies are growing and quickly! We learned today (although we are still a bit confused) that what was Baby "A" last time is now Baby "B" and what was Baby "B" is now Baby "A." It was my understanding from our last appointment that Baby "A" would always be Baby "A" and Baby "B" would always be Baby "B" but today we were told otherwise... So, for anyone who knows more than us, please feel free to share!Maybe they are already playing tricks on us! Speaking of which, we love your comments so please keep them coming! From what the tech told us today, Baby "A" would always be called "A" because it is the closest to the cervix. So, since our last appointment, the babies have rotated a bit and Baby "A" was Baby "B" last time but switched to a lower position and is now closer to the cervix. Confused yet? I think thats enough talk using "A" and "B" language...
As I briefly mentioned, the babies are growing quickly and the bigger baby who was 11 oz at the last appointment is now 1 pound and 7 ounces and the smaller baby who was 9 oz last time is now 1 pound and 3 ounces. The heartbeats are great, 142 for the bigger baby (A) and 150 for the smaller baby (B).
Mike and I were both kind of disappointed with the pictures that we did get. To be totally honest, the ultrasound tech that we had today wasn't as good as the last appointment. She was super nice but the pictures weren't half as good... so we are hopeful to have better pictures for the next round in early January (4 weeks). Unfortunately I got a bit light headed when we got to the pictures and measurements for the second baby. The tech had me move to my left side and I felt great after I moved but I also missed all of the pictures on the screen the second baby and this was the baby that didn't let us get any profile pictures.
I was pleased to learn that the pain in my ribs is nothing to be worried about and is the compliments of one of the babies.. I won't mention any names.... okay, okay, it was the bigger baby who has a leg comfortably placed up there and ready to move at any given moment. So thank you Baby A! Oops, did I mention which baby. Mike is concerned that this may lead to some favorable treatment of the babies someday. I am pretty sure that we are going to be SO confused tracking which baby was which. Heck, we will be lucky if we can tell one baby from the other post birth, never mind pre-birth!
On an entertaining note, the baby that was kicking the other in the head in our last ultrasound is finally get paid back. The other baby, the littler one, was sticking his bum in the bigger baby's face for the picture today. We had to laugh and of course the tech printed out a picture so we could show the boys some day.
Well enough baby talk. It's off to work on Christmas cards.... Thanks for checking in.... I promise, the pictures will come as soon as the scanner behaves :)

So much for naming - see, the wrist band rattles that I sent may indeed come in handy:-)
