Happy Ice Day!

The picture on the bottom is hard to distinguish a head from a butt but its a neat shot because you can see both babies in one picture.  They babies have one placenta but each have their own sac which is what you see in this picture.

The top picture is Baby A, the little baby who was camera shy last time.  It's not the best shot but if you look closely you can make out the nose and eye.  I think they must be working hard at keeping the rest of their profiles a secret since the pictures aren't coming easy these days!

Today turned out to be a wonderful surprise for me.  Umass was closed due to the icy/snowy conditions.... how awesome is that?!?   I did have a Dr's appointment and ultrasound today and braved the elements because I had been looking forward to this appointment too much to be willing to reschedule!  Mike is traveling this week and is in Texas, lucky duck - avoiding this snowy fun that we are experiencing in New England.  Thankfully, my mom willingly came with me to the ultrasound.  It was great to have her there and nice to share the experience with someone else.

So our boys are not meant to be America's Next Top Model contestants - they proved that today!  Neither one of them was willing to cooperate and let us get a nice face shot!  While they have been very good to me throughout the pregnancy, they definitely haven't been good to the camera - hopefully they leave this trait behind in the womb :)  None the less, the appointment went great, both the boys and I are growing.  Baby A (the confusion of who is who is still present!) is 2.3 pounds.  He is the littler guy on my right side and Baby B is 2.6 pounds and is the bigger guy on my left.   The heart rates are great - 154 for Baby A and 158 for Baby B.  I was thrilled to hear that Baby A is no longer breech!  He has flipped and both babies are now head down... Now if only they would stay that way for the next 8-10ish weeks until their arrival.  Both boys were very busy and again the ultrasound technologist commented on how active the boys were.  I guess they must be taking after me since I am not very good at sitting still.

I get to go back to the Dr's every two weeks now which is nice.  My next ultrasound won't be for another month but I love going even just for a Dr's appointment to have my questions answered and get any reassurance that I may need, depending on the week.  I'll keep you posted about our progress again this weekend.
