Aiden is all smiles when Daddy comes home from work!

How is it that Christmas music seems to make everything seem jolly? Mike was cleaning out his car about 2 weeks ago and came across one of my Christmas Cd's. Little did he know that bringing it in the house has now given me the perfect reason to start the season early! The boys seem to love the music. I am guessing that it must be familiar since I started listening to it about this time last year when they were in my belly! Perhaps that like it because I dance around the house like a loon, singing and being goofy when it's on and they always get a kick out that!
This week we have been getting outside as much as possible. I know the REAL cold weather is just around the corner so I want to take advantage of every opportunity to enjoy the cool fall weather while we can!
On Monday I decided to call our pediatrician about the boys colds since it seems to be lingering for more than 3 weeks now. The nurse said that they wanted to see Chris and Aiden but our normal Enfield office was closed to celebrate a Jewish holiday. Go figure! So.... we made the trek to East Longmeadow and the boys were great sports. We saw a new doctor who was great and they stared Chris and Aiden on an antibiotic twice a day for 2 weeks to treat a sinus infection. Mike and I were hopeful that we would see some significant improvements but we are at the end of day 2 and haven't noticed much yet...
Monday night we had a great visit with Amanda, Derek and Ryan Gould. We had a great chance to visit and Aiden and Chris thought that Derek was the funniest person alive! He was a great entertainer!
Yesterday I was able to slip out for the night to meet Leeanne. Mike took over with the boys and kept the house "under control." He also willingly gave Houdini (aka Cali) a flea bath with Auntie Laura since the master of disaster managed to escape yet AGAIN! We are starting to take the hint that maybe she is looking for another place to live! Any takers??? I can't blame her, especially with the boys recent interest in her. Regardless of what Chris and Aiden may be doing, when they see Cali, their world becomes centered around her. Once they are on the move she will be on the RUN... if she is smart!
Today Grammie Hopkins came over and watched the boys so that I could get a few hours to myself. I was successful at completing what seems to be a never ending list of errands and even made it to the Enfield library for a few new movies for the boys and adults.
I have been feeling guilty about not letting the boys "play" in the bath often. Taking baths is usually a methodical task that I do as quickly as possible and I was curious how they would like playing and relaxing. Unfortunately with both boys in the tub, its a job for two so I have to wait until Mike is home to help. So... tonight the boys got a treat and spent 40 minutes playing in the tub. They weren't too interested in splashing but LOVED eating all of the bath toys and each others limbs.
The boys decided to boycott naps today so they were in bed early. The early bedtime gave me the opportunity to make apple chicken chili and apple crisp for dinner for tomorrow. Yum! I can't wait!
