Chris
Aiden
We go together like the birds of a feather... at least at this given moment!
Tonight we welcomed Mike home from his business trip with welcome arms! Aiden and Chris were thrilled to see him and eager to get riled up and I was happy to have him home and so thankful to have an extra set of hands!
On Monday morning Mike left for the Berkshires for a work retreat for two nights and three days. Monday went great for the boys and I. The weather was fantastic so we spent a lot of time outside. Monday night Grammie Pt. and Dziadz came over and brought dinner. It was a wonderful treat and so nice to have some extra help with the boys.
Tuesday Grammie Hopkins came over in the morning to spend some time with Aiden and Chris which allowed me to get out to run some errands and feel a bit more human with adult interactions! I had a very productive morning and was so grateful for that break. Yes, I am very spoiled with all of the help that I get and love that the boys get!!! Tuesday afternoon and evening my spirits started to drop as my breast pump broke yet again! If you follow my blog, you know this is my lifeline so it was a LONG night of manual pumping one side at a time!!!! I was able to contact the company and they told me that they would replaced the pump for me but it would take 3-5 business days. I asked if they would be willing to expedite the shipping and I explained that I would be more than happy to pay the cost myself but they were unable to work with me. I was less than pleased and find it hard to understand how after explaining my situation to a company that is supposed to be in business to support nursing women, I would find myself stranded with no options for up to a week! If I were to wait 3-5 business days for Avent to resolve the situation, not only would I be in major pain but my milk supply would also be lost.... Can you tell I am annoyed?
This morning I woke up with the mission of buying/obtaining another breast pump. We were scheduled to meet our friends Caroline and Mathieu for a morning walk. When Caroline called to finalize the details of our plan, I explained my situation and told her I would be pumping all morning instead of walking.... Caroline was my lifesaver and graciously lent me her pump AND delivered to my doorstep! What a friend and lifesaver!!!! I will be eternally grateful to her because as any woman that's nursed knows, it get very uncomfortable very quickly! So now it is a waiting game until the new pump arrives and a praying game that the new pump holds up better than the last 2!
So I found a new website that is pretty cool that I wanted to share with anyone that might need baby/children goodies. Check out http://btrendie.com. The log in is DiaperDuo. Every few days they have new events where they feature name brand mommie-to-be and baby/children products at great discounts! They also have cool giveaways and who doesn't love winning a prize??? Even if you're not looking to spend a lot of money, its a fun place to poke around and "window shop" or consider getting a gift for someone that may have children or be expecting! Happy shopping!!!
