What a week! Mike and I found ourselves ending each day wondering what tomorrow would bring as the boys made such huge progress with their interests and abilities to move! Aiden learned to crawl at the beginning of the week and Chris was not far behind. Just when we were adjusting to the idea of the boys crawling, Aiden and Chris also both learned to pull themselves up on anything and everything, starting with their crib rails! They look like prisoners, pulling themselves up from behind the white bars in their cribs! The cribs are now as low as they can go and the railings are fully raised. Our little babies are becoming little boys!
I love nothing more than looking back on pictures from their "early" days.... our sleepy, cuddly babies, their skinny little chicken legs, their balding heads, the messy meals and now baby boys on the move. Looking back at the early days and realizing how quickly they grow and change makes me appreciate the time that I have been so lucky to enjoy with Aiden & Chris. I love waking up each morning (although bit earlier than I would choose) to see their smiling faces and looks of anticipation as they eager await the start of a new day. I love how everything is SO new and SO exciting for them! We went for a walk this week on a windy Thursday and the leaves were blowing as if it were raining leaves from the trees. Chris and Aiden looked up to the sky in awe, caring less about the toys in their car seats and totally looking like they won the lottery as the leaves fell into their seats and within reach to see, touch and EAT! Oh the joys of seeing the world through the eyes of babies!
So yes, the boys are both crawling, both pulling themselves up on everything around them. They are also still very into putting EVERYTHING into their mouths...and I mean everything from toys to other people's body parts to dirty socks (even when they are still on your feet!) This week they also found fun in dumping over and emptying buckets of blocks and toys. I purchased a toy organizer a few months back where we store some of their small toys. They love to play with the buckets from the organizer, tipping them over again and again and again... now if only they could learn to pick up the toys afterward... Maybe that's something to work on this week :)
Aiden and Chris also love to walk with assistance. If they are in their walkers they cruise and would be deserving of speeding tickets for taking the corners too quickly or for chasing down pedestrians. If they are free from their walkers and are walking with the assistance of an adult, they are in their glory. They LOVE to walk, holding onto an adults fingers. Now... about that child proofing we have been walking about for weeks... I think we have no choice but to move it to our #1 priority this week!!!
