The boys LOVE looking out the window and definitely enjoyed the surprise that they woke up to this morning!

This was an interesting week end for our family. On Friday morning, we woke up to a house that was 54 degrees and dropping with NO running water at 5:15 am! Not a great start to a day but thankfully it was a Friday. A call to CL & P had the electric company checking things out within an hour thankfully... but not so great was the news that followed. One of the "phases" was out for our area and it had been over 30 years since the electric company had to service it so they had no idea where to begin. So after about 12 hours we were finally up and running again. In the meantime, Mike had to stay home from work to keep a fire going to keep the pipes from freezing while I headed to my parents in Belchertown to keep the boys occupied and warm for the afternoon. My parents were both working but we were able to spend some time visiting with GG Mimi and had a quick visit with Grammie Pt before we headed home for bed. Poor Mike was home freezing, where the temp in the house dropped to 46 degrees! We spent the remainder of the weekend relaxing and keeping warm!
Today we were actually happy to find that they snow storm didn't hit as hard as they had predicted. Mike and I took the boys for their first winter walk in the woods behind our house. Our yard abutts a conservation area and we had never checked it out entirely so we figured today was a good day to start. We were the first to get out there since the snow fall and it was peaceful and quiet with the exceptions of the squeeks and squeals coming from the boys. Aiden and Chris seemed to love the new sights and sounds. Aiden loved it so much that he was asleep before we got back to the car.. even in a very uncomfortable position! Both Aiden and Chris took good naps.. the first good naps in a LONG time! We are hoping to get out for more walks with more long naps to follow :)
