Go Sox

We love the Sox. At least that's what we're told to say!!! (Aiden, L and Chris, R)

Where did our warm weather go? We went out for a VERY windy walk this morning and were almost blown along the sidewalk. I am ready for spring! Suffield didn't have school today so there was no playschool for the boys. We enjoyed a leisurely morning, staying in our PJ's until 10 and just wandering from one room to the next playing. I think it does the boys a world of good to have days like this every once in a while and it got us back on a great nap schedule for today at least.

It has been a great week. Aiden and Chris went to play school on Monday and Tuesday morning and seemed to enjoy themselves. Aiden continues to be a bit more hesitant and shy but warms up within 15 minutes, allowing me to sneak out the door. Grammie Hopkins is in sunny CA this week so Grammie and Dziadz Pt. came over on Tuesday afternoon to play with Aiden and Chris which allowed me to run some errands ALONE. What a great feeling it is to be able to zoom in and out of stores by yourself in a fraction of the time it takes to pack the family up. It is also wonderful having my grocery shopping done and missing crowds by going mid-day. Life is good! Aiden and Chris enjoyed their visits and both have learned new tricks. They now know how to turn on their fake laugh for Grammie Pt and Dziadz has taught them to spit when he says "Yankees." It's funny because for as little as they are, they have learned to associate those tricks with only Grammie & Dziadz Pt and don't tend to pull them out for Mike and I.

Aiden now has one big top tooth that can not be used and a second pushing it ways out! No signs of top teeth for Chris but I am sure they will be making an appearance soon given his constant desire to be in someones arms lately! The eating ritual is about the same. The boys could take or leave food. Our new foods so far this week were mashed sweet potatoes with butter, cream and maple syrup. They were a flop! Hard boiled eggs... another flop and french toast made from a croissant (go high fat foods!), cream, whole milk, eggs, cinnamon, LOTS of butter and syrup. I did manage to get them not to eat a few bites of the french toast so that was not a total flop. Anyone have any creative, high fat food ideas?

Another exciting note is that the boys have had a few nights recently where they BOTH, yes BOTH slept through the night! I am still learning to not wake up 5 times and usually find myself awake around 12:30 am and 3:30 am regardless but I guess it all comes in time. With the clock change, the boys are in bed around 7 pm and sleep until about 6:15 - 6:45 am, sometimes up once in between. Sweet! Now if only we could work on the growing piece that is supposed to happen while they sleep we would be all set!

I have to laugh and share this on a side note. Both Aiden and Chris are VERY into electronics and buttons of any kind. So, we had an old fart machine around the house that has now become a favorite toy. (Not sure what kind of people we are, having old fart machines lying around the house but anyways...) As you can imagine, Mike and I both laugh like 5 year olds when Aiden and Chris press it and they just LOVE our response and smile, carrying on with pressing the button. Well, as I sit here and finish my blog at 10 pm, the fart machine is still going off. Poor Chris fell asleep with the machine in his crib and it switches to an auto setting when it is on but not being played with where it plays on its own. I couldn't help but laugh when the whole house is silent and you hear a earth shattering fart coming from the nursery! I can't even imagine how popular this toy will become once they really understand what it does!
