Chris (L) and Aiden (R) eat their cheerios at the bar stools for the first time!
Pig pile on Dadda. (Chris on shoulders and Aiden on lap)
Aiden explores his first pineapple. It's spikey and he's not too sure about it!
Chris stops for a smile while eating a few bites of breakfast.
We welcome the summer weather with open arms!
We had a great end to our week and a great weekend!
The boys went to playschool on Thursday and had a great time! Thursday afternoon Great Grammie Tag came over for a visit with Grammie Hopkins. Great Grammie Tag is in for a visit all the way from South Carolina! I think it has been about 9 months since she been up visiting so the boys had plenty of new skills to show off. As always, they loved having a captive audience. Aiden was full of tricks and smiles while Chris was a bit more cautious. It is interesting to see their roles reverse. We had a great visit and hope to see a lot more of Great Grammie while she is in Massachusetts visiting.
On Friday our friend, Karly, the OT came over for her weekly visit. This week she had Aiden and Chris experiment with Jello and whipped cream. Aiden was quick to dig in while Chris let his fingers "bounce" on the top layer before figuring out the mess that he could create. It didn't take either monkey long to figure out how quickly they could make a HUGE mess! Jello everywhere.... in their hair, on their outfits, on the seats, counter and of course plastering the floor. They did enjoy themselves and I am hopeful that whatever die they use in Jello will eventually wear off of our counter tops :) I guess this gives us yet another reason to be thankful that we have not invested in re-doing our kitchen yet!
On Saturday we met Grammie & Grandpa Hopkins for an early morning walk and playground stroll. Aiden and Chris loved having the playground to themselves and I loved having 4 adults sets of eyes on two very busy boys! The swings were a huge hit and the loved being able to run free. An added bonus was the company of Sierra, Grammie & Grandpa's dog which takes very good care of Aiden and Chris.
Saturday afternoon our friend Livia Locke had her second birthday party and celebrated with a "zoo" at her house! What a special treat! The boys loved being in a new environment and made themselves right at home from the time that they walked in and saw a room full of balloons.... They were in heaven. Livia was great to share her swing set (which is our new toddler addiction) and her fort/ball pit. Between all of the new toys and the live horses, goats, bunnies, & sheep, Livia's party was a hit! They boys were non-stop action as they didn't want to miss a thing! While they were wayyyyy overtired, once they hit their beds, they were out!
We headed to church this morning then enjoyed a visit with Auntie Laura this afternoon. Aiden took on the shy guy roll but warmed up quickly. Auntie and I took the boys on their first Walmart shopping experience. They always seem to enjoy being out and love people watching. We had a great visit and hope Auntie will come back to visit again soon!
This is our last week of playschool.... so we plan to enjoy 3 days of fun this week and next week we will be getting creative to burn some energy and have some fun!
