Aiden finishing up his bathtime.

Chris's new "flip" hair do!

Play time for Aiden!

Play time for Chris!

Could the fall really be right around the corner? While I was out for a morning walk with the boys, I noticed the first tree changing colors already! While it was gorgeous, I am left wondering where the summer has gone???

I love that we have so many friends with kids that are willing to get together on a regular basis! It is so nice to have adult conversation and company mid-day.

Monday morning I braved Costco with Chris and Aiden. As I have mentioned in the past, Costco is the only store that I have found so far that has seats for two toddlers in the front of the carriage. Although Chris resisted sitting in the carriage at first, he quickly realized that he had no choice. They were the center of attention and attracted many inquisitive shoppers. They actually did really well considering they don't shop much with me and I made sure to make it a quick trip so that I wouldn't push my luck. I think the trickiest part is trying to round the troops back into the house while I carry in the perishable groceries (as in 4 gallons of milk!)With my reusable totes I can put 2 gallons on milk in each bag and one bag and one toddlers on each side - I consider it my weight lifting challenge for the day :)

This week the boys had their second occupation therapy session on Monday afternoon with our new OT, Patty. The session went well but we are again taking a new feeding approach on her recommendation. Patty said that at this point we should be trying to increase variety, putting less emphasis on food quality until they have a larger taste selection. I am not sure how I feel about this as I constantly struggle with trying to find snacks that the boys enjoy, can feed themselves and are not packed with sugar. Patty also thought that we should allow the boys to bring toys to their meals to keep them seated longer.... hum.... I have to give these ideas some thought as I fear that we may be started some habits that will be hard to break.

Yesterday morning Grammie Hopkins came over to watch Aiden and Chris while I headed out for a dreaded dentist appointment - two cavities, top and bottom! Yuck.... I wish that I could say that I am glad it is behind me but I will be returning for part 2 on the other side of my mouth next Tuesday. I am so thankful that Grammie is able to come watch the boys for me so I can sneak out to these appointments without feeling guilty, knowing that they are in great hands, having a better time than I am!

Yesterday afternoon our friends Megan and Calvin came over to play. The boys took quite a liking to Megan and showered her with kisses and hugs while in the meantime they were busy wrestling poor Calvin for the toys he had. Chris and Aiden have become very adjusted to stealing toys from one another and know how to fight back but we are working on their manners for when we have friends over to play. They love to share but only on their terms and conditions.

Last night I had a girls night out with Leeanne and we went to the movies to see Letters to Juliet - a great, carefree chick flick and a relaxing night out. Mike took the boys for a visit to Grammie & Grandpa Hopkins where they also got to visit with Aunt Martha and Auntie Sarah. Mike said the boys had a great time despite an extended bedtime. I was sorry I missed the visit but it was a good night for one and all!

Today we are heading out to meet our friends Caroline and Mathieu for a play date this afternoon. We have yet to determine exactly what we will do but we are looking forward to getting out for a bit to enjoy a change of pace!

Humm, what else is new? Mike and I had decided that at this point, Aiden is our morning monkey, waking up happy and Chris is our night owl, able to happily stay awake all hours of the night. They continue to love books, animals, trucks, tractors and blocks. They lve digging in the sand, picking through the trash and occassionally cuddling at night - what a life!
