I have not been very good at taking pictures this week - shame on me! Pictures to follow shortly but in the meantime, here's an overview of our week!
As I had mentioned in my were last post, Monday was Auntie Laura's birthday. The boys and I were lucky that Auntie Laura was willing to share her birthday morning to come visit us! We spent the morning at Sunrise Park at the beach. The boys loved the water and loved being able to run around the sand. Two days in a row, could it get any better? I loved having the company and was so grateful that Laura was willing to share her special day with us. After Auntie Laura left, we have our friends Caroline and Mathieu over for a visit. We stayed inside to enjoy the AC but the kids had a great visit as did the mommies!
On Tuesday Grammie Hopkins came over to watch Aiden and Chris so that I could do my weekly errands. I was thrilled to get out and excited to see Carol. Aiden and Chris napped during most of Grammies visit this week but woke up just as I was coming home so they never had the chance to miss me! Grandpa Hopkins came over for lunch and brought delicious grinders - yummy! Aiden and Chris have certainly taken a liking to the lunches that Grandpa brings! When Mike got home from work we did a special art project for Grandpa's birthday and even Cali joined in the fun, jumping on the kitchen table and landing in WET paint! She had paint between her legs, up her side and on her paws.... oh what fun! Just when I thought I was done cleaning up for the day, Cali decided to keep me busy!
Last night I was lucky enough to have a ladies night out with my friends Leeanne and Leora. We had a great time catching up and could have talked for hours. The food was delicious (Uno's!) of course but its always great to have a good laugh with them!
Today Aiden and Chris had their last physical therapy appointment through the Birth to Three Program. They are now fully "up to speed" in terms of gross motor skills so there was no need to continue with that service. We are still waiting to meet our new OT who will continue to come once a week for some feeding assistance and we hope to meet her soon since we miss Karli!
Aiden and Chris have been doing better and better at feeding themselves. I have also learned a little trick that they tend to sit longer and eat a bit more when they have small plastic animals on their trays that they can feed - who would have guessed! Its great because they are very into sharing their food with others and I was usually the lucky recipient but now that they have plastic doggies and camels to feed, maybe I drop a pound or two! We shall see....
We wish Grandpa Hopkins a very Happy early Birthday and we look forward to celebrating with him tomorrow night!
