Aiden thinks he's hot stuff with his big boy hair do!
Christopher admiring his new stylish haircut.
Cali is not forgotten. She poked her head out and about this week to enjoy the boys box fort. She also frequents it after hours when the boys are fast asleep. Speaking of the kitty, both A & C have taken a new interest in wanting to gently pet the kitty and give her kisses. A nice change from the scary monster noises that they so enjoyed making to scare her away.

The new TV watching set up. Two happy boys, in cozy coupes with TV - Life is good, for the moment anyways!
What is new at the Hopkins household? For starters, there is never anything missing any more. Rather, everything that may be out of sight is "hiding." When I say everything, I mean everything from their sippy cups that they've put in a special spot to Daddy when he's in the bedroom. It's a great catch all answer!
For the past few weeks/maybe months, we have been allowing the boys to chose a few toys to take to nap with them. It has worked great and really kept them happy and quiet until they were tired enough to sleep. Believe it or not, we have not had a day where they played all nap rather than sleeping. But, we are now taking larger orders for nap time requests/toys. Typically in the past the boys would chose a book, puzzle piece, truck or maybe even one of each. Well this week we have stepped it up with requests to take their new cozy coupes, diningroom table, hall wall, bathroom door and kitchen chair to nap. I explained that they have to be able to carry it to bring it to nap, but we are still working on that understanding!
I have been tracking the boys words and they are up to about 35 words that they use with regularity! We are now going to work on verbs and putting a verb and a noun together.
Yesterday the boys had their last session of occupational therapy. It was our choice to discontinue the service but Mike and I both felt that we were making progress on our own and using the service once a month wasn't making much of a difference. I think thrilled to have "graduated!"
What else is new? Mike and I started our own baking factory. Quite literally! Over the past 2 nights we have made about 30 dozen treats for baskets for some of Mike's co-workers. It was quite the undertaking, of course something that I enjoyed and LOVED having company to do and something that Mike is currently "reconsidering" for next year. Maybe the 9 pm run to the store for more sugar had something to do with it or perhaps it was the fact that we were up past 11 last night still wrapping cookies. Then again, maybe it was when the "no fail fudge" failed! It was an experience none the less and I am temporarily over my need to bake... for a few days anyway!
Crabby Chris finally took a back seat and is back to himself after a week of being a monster! Yippee! We returned to playschool and again are going through the whole adjustment period. We only have two more weeks of playschool after tomorrow and then it will be a long winter of staying warm and cozy inside. We also have a fun visit with our friends Megan and Calvin. They are such great sports and are always so willing to accomodate us. The boys had a blast running around and because we had been sick, it had been a while so I was thrilled to have some Mommy time with Megan!
Tonight I have a ladies night out with Leora and Leeanne and I can't wait. Shopping here we come! Until Sunday, stay warm and cozy....
