It's funny because when ever I sit down to blog on Sundays, thinking back to Wednesday when I last blogged seems soo long ago!
We knew that Mike was getting home from work late on Thursday and we were thrilled to pack up and head to Belchertown for a visit with Grammie, Dziadzu and GG Mimi. As always, the boys had a great time and didn't want to leave. It was nice to visit and great to have a change of pace and extra hands! The boys were literally little monkeys and were on a climbing kick, giving GG Mimi a few near heart attack experiences :) They loved all of the toys there and loved Maddie and Crammer (Grammie and Dziadzu's dog and cat!) I also heard about the big ball (in Spfld near the Basketball Hall of Fame) the entire ride home. Car rides are entertaining these days as they are narrated the entire time! Mike enjoyed a Uncon Basketball game with his dad on Thursday and really enjoyed his time out. Win, win for everyone.
Uncle Dan turned the big 2-6 on Friday! Happy, happy birthday Uncle Dan! We enjoyed a night of fun with our friends Adam and Gina who came over for dinner and came bearing fun birthday presents for our very spoiled two year olds! A & C loved their cupcakes, new books and puzzle and enjoyed showing off as always.
Saturday morning I volunteered with my friend Megan for the Angel Foods Mission. It was an early morning but a lot of fun. Megan was a great partner in crime and it was great being able to catch up without any interuptions from our little ones as sometimes it takes us 5 minutes at our playdates to finish a thought! It was a rewarding but COLD experience as we waiting in the bitter cold around 7:30 am for over an hour to unload the shipments. Well worth it but I will be thankful for the warmth the next time its our turn to serve again.
I got home just in time to take A & C for their two year old lab work (follow up from their physical 2 wks ago). The lab closed at 12 on Saturday so we packed up, scooted out and made it, phew! A & C were less than pleased about being there but were happy campers when they realized they were getting an icecream cone from Friendlies afterward for being so brave. The Elmo stickers and "kitty" (Garfield) band aids from the lab helped too! We are hopeful the the thyriod will come back normal (a safety precaution since they are still so tiny and their soft spots are still open a bit) and they also did the traditional two year old lead test. I am SO glad its over with and I was SO thankful to have Mike there. I was also super appreciative to have a technition that knew what she was doing and didn't stab Chris 3 times unsuccessfully like our last experience. It's always nice when things go smoothly! We ran some errands in the afternoon and a low key night.
Today we went to church and headed out after naps for an ice skating party. The boys had a blast skating around in their boots with Daddy's help. I decided to spare everyone around me and stuck with being the designated photographer for our family.
I have yet to have luck with uploading any videos so I won't make any more promises, sorry! I think my computer may not be high tech or new enough to read our video camera. Bummer! I can't seem to figure out to do much with the video camera these days outside of recording so I guess I might need to do the most dreaded task of reading the manual. GULP... Maybe someday when I am bored :)
