Chris and his side kick, Dziadzu.
Aiden says "please, hold the pictures for later."
Singing and dancing and having a blast. Life is good.
I am pretty convinced that the mosquitos had a picnic in our backyard today as I weeded and planted and they invited every other mosquito that they had ever met, lunch was on ME… Where are they all coming from? Maybe our new neighbor grows them in his shed? Anyways, we have been so excited that the rain is gone… for now at least! And I guess mosquitos are the least of my concerns even if they are eating me alive through my long sleeved shirt and pants. Maybe it's a sign that I am just that sweet?!? LOL
We had a great day on Thursday with baby Ashley. She is so sweet and easy going and brings such wonderful change of pace to our day. The boys love helping out and after playing with their Little Tykes nativity set, they were referring to baby Ashley as an "angel." I couldn't agree more.
I was convinced that Friday was going to be another washout so I headed out early with A & C to burn some energy at the indoor play area in the Enfield mall. They had a blast and met a new little friend. We came home and were even able to play outside after naps. What a day and what a gorgeous change of pace. It is amazing how much of a mood lifter sunshine can be. I was so excited to celebrate my birthday early with some friends from church on Friday night. We went out to dinner and had a blast. It was a great night with awesome people, wonderful food and so much to laugh about. Maybe getting old isn't such a bad thing after all?
Saturday morning we headed to the playground, afraid of being stuck inside for the day. After running around for a bit, we headed to Dunkin Donuts and let A & C pick out a donut of their choice. Without hesitation, they both quickly and happily chose and enjoyed some big chocolate donuts. Yummy. After naps, Grammie and Dziadzu came for a visit. We headed over to purchase some of our starter plants for our garden. I am now super antsy to get them in the ground and get them growing. I cannot wait to be able to go outside and pick our own goodies. So fun and so delicious. I started to diagram out my garden (does that make me a super dork?) and hope to get everything in the ground within the next week or so. This year we are going to be growing strawberries, blueberries, rhubarb, chives, basil, spinach, 2 varieties of peppers, 3 kinds of tomatoes, onions, cukes, squash & zucchini. I think that sums it up. I also started some cantaloupes and honeydew melons from seed but they aren't looking too promising at this point. I was thrilled to spend some time weeding and planting in my flower gardens too. The joys of summer. A & C loved seeing Grammie & Dziadzu and had many stories to tell and so much that they wanted to do while they were visiting.
Today we went to church in the morning and after naps (and being eaten alive by packs of mosquitos), we headed to check out Bliss Park ion Longeadow with our friends, the Schillings. The boys were in heaven with a new playscape and older friends to take great care of them. We had a blast visiting, running around and catching up. Unfortunately I brought my camera but forgot to pull it out. Bummer. Aiden and Chris love spend time with friends and love nothing more than being around big kids. Such a fun day and fun weekend!
Mike is going to Chicago this week so I am hoping the rain decides to change its mind and shed a bit of light and sunshine instead. Here's to a great week and 2 more days of "being in my twenties."
