Big boys all around! After a 2 hour game of "jump the crib" during nap time on Monday, Mike and I quickly came to the realization that cribs were a thing of the past. Aiden and Chris spent their first night in "big boy beds" on Monday. They stayed up chatting until 9:15 but didn't get out of their beds. It was cute hearing their giggles and the bouncing of their mattresses and as as long as they are safe and "unwinding," Mike and I are happy campers! Bye, bye cribs... hello bigger big boys!
So along with big boy beds we have also been starting to potty train! Very exciting but I think it may be a long road. They do great using their pottys when I set a timer and remind them every 20 minutes but once any distraction exists (being outside, having company, etc), forget about it! They also want nothing to do with #2 on the potty! Like I said, it is a work in progress.
As you can see from the pictures this week, we had a great morning on Monday and went to the Forest Park Zoo in Springfield with our friends Mathieu and Caroline. It was cool but perfect weather for a day in the park. The playground and train ride around the park were also a huge hit!
Yesterday was a work day for Mike and I and poor Mamie was stuck inside in the rain with A & C. She is great and gets very creative with things to keep the boys happy and entertained. They built some amazing lego structures!
This morning we are excited to have a playdate at our house with Calvin and Ashley. We are hopeful that maybe the sun will warm things up and dry things off quickly so we can enjoy some time outside in the SUN!
The boys are talking up a storm and are so opinionated. They love to tell stories that begin with "sometimes..., one time....., maybe....." and it is always entertaining to hear what is coming next!
