Is it Wednesday already? My how the days pass when you can actually get out and about!
We are so excited to be back in full swing. Monday we went for a drive to break up the day and checked out Westmore Park in West Hartford. It’s a great place for kids and the best part is that it’s free! Aiden and Chris loved their animal barn and got a kick out of how friendly the animals were. I of course followed right behind with the germy gel and hand wipes. They have some great hiking trails that we checked out briefly (I say briefly b/c I knew I would end up carrying one or both of my little men at least part of the way home.) Sometimes fresh air does us all good. We came home with our moods lifted, relaxed for a bit then headed for a walk to the playground in town. I am SO thankful that we can walk to just about anything from our house..
Aiden sneaking a feel. Someone is always up to trouble. Chris admiring the sheep.
(note Aiden trying to climb in w/the animals!)
Tuesday Mamie came to watch Aiden and Chris. They visited Big Y, went out to lunch, met Grandpa and even got Mrs. Murphy’s donuts. They had some special Tuesday plans and are truly spoiled during their Mamie time!
The rain didn’t leave us many options today so we were thankful to be invited to our friend Ashley’s house to play. She so many wonderful toys that Aiden and Chris loved checking out. They were in their glory and it was so nice to be in such great company. Daddy is working late so we are happy to have Dziadzu stopping over, even if briefly after work.
As you know, I LOVE Christmas and having children has truly brought the “magic” of the holidays back. I am cheesy like that! Lucky for me, A & C share in my love of Christmas so we officially started reading Christmas stories and listening to Christmas music this week. So nice! (especially since I have several new holiday CD’s that I got when Borders was closing after the holidays last year. There is nothing better than new Christmas music to put me in a good mood!) If you like boy bands (and I’ll admit – I DO!), the David Archuleta Christmas from the Heart CD is a winner! Mike might say otherwise
I am VERY late in posting these pictures above. Uncle Danny traveled around Europe for 3 weeks this summer and brought back surprises, one of which were these soccer uniforms for A & C! Here they are dressed up like super stars. If you notice the back says “Messi” Knowing this, you might appreciate Chris’s reply when I innocently said “oh cool, you’re Messi!” Chris wasted no time in getting angry and defensive saying “NO Mommy, I’m not messy!” You have to love the literal understandings at this age. Thank you Uncle Danny for our special souvenirs!
PS – Stay tuned for my Christmas countdown coming soon to the blog if I can locate one. Thanks Dad for reminding me
