Yeah!

I am BEYOND excited to share our news!  Yes, I missed my “normal” post last Wednesday and have been brief the past few weeks but it has all been for good reason.  As I mentioned we have been busting our behinds to work on the room in the basement and…… we have been chosen by Women’s Day for a playroom makeover!  I can hardly contain my excitement as it still feels so surreal.  About 2 years ago my Mom found a small generic post in their publication about writing to them if you needed advice, suggestions etc.  She encouraged me to write in about our basement as we knew we wanted to do something in the future with the space but didn’t know where to begin.  So, to make a long story short, I wrote in and didn’t hear anything…. twice.  Then, months and months later, I received an email of interest asking me for more details about where we were at with the project.  I went back and forth the Women’s Day for weeks and finally, a few days before Christmas they asked if they could come from New York to take a look at the space in person and in only 2 weeks.  That’s where Mike and I were SO thankful for the help from our families as we “stepped it up” since they wanted all of the walls to be in place and we had a LOT of work ahead of us. The good news…. our hard work part off and we WILL have an amazing space to enjoy for years to come (will being the key word as we still have a lot ahead of us!).

So, you may be wondering how this is going to happen.  I am wondering that myself!  We are supposed to hear from them shortly with the game plan and in the meantime, Mike and I have some “homework” and projects to finish.  We are beyond excited and can’t wait to keep you posted!

Being as we worked for 2 weeks straight, we decided to take a break this weekend to get out to enjoy the amazing January weather.  It isn’t often that you get 50 degree days in the middle of winter with no snow on the ground.  We packed up and headed to Northeast Park on Saturday for a fun and tiring hike.  The boys were overtired and hence cranky but it was so nice to get fresh air and so nice to see some sun!  Today we had nursery duty in the morning, worked a bit in the basement and went for a walk to the middle school playground.  It is amazing how cold 40 can feel when the wind is whipping.  Still nice weather and so great to be moving!

After a day of tense nerves on Friday, waiting for our “company” to arrive from New York and the Berkshires, I was thrilled to head out with some of my lovely ladies for a yummy treat at Panera’s. Its always great to catch up and nice to get out.  Thank you Leeanne, Leora and Heather! We also had a visit from Grammie Pt on Friday who helped to “hold down the fort” with A & C while Mike and I were with our company.  She is such a lifesaver!  Dziadzu also stopped over on Thursday afternoon and A & C couldn’t have been happier. We love visitors!

As I always say, we are blessed.  So very blessed and we have SO much to be thankful for.  So to all of our friends and family, please know that we will be SO excited to have you over to play in our new space, hopefully by the end of February!
