Easter Cont…

Thursday was Daddy’s 32nd Birthday.  We enjoyed a quiet evening with just the family and some yummy funfetti cake.  The boys and I had a few little treats for Mike and we surprised him with some festive decorations upon his arrival home.  Aiden and Chris wanted to know how many parties Daddy’s get since they got 3!  Let’s hope they forget about that by next February!

Uncle Danny arrived late Thursday night and spent his first night at our house so to Aiden and Chris’s surprise, he was here and ready to play when they woke up bright and early Friday morning.  What a guy!  Dziadzu had an early and abbreviated work day so he came to pick up all of the boys, A, C & Uncle Danny and brought them all to visit Babci.  I took advantage of the chance to get to work early and was thrilled to get home earlier to start our fun filled Easter weekend.  It was a great day for all and as an added bonus the boys all got to see Uncle Mike at Babci’s as well.

What’s better than 16,500 eggs?  Not much when it comes to Easter egg hunts.  On Saturday we brought Aiden and Chris to an egg hunt in Granby, CT that was sponsored by our church, loaded with eggs and so well organized and attended.  It was a sight to be seen with an entire football field littered with colored eggs.  Heaven for the kiddos.  Aiden and Chris said it was the best church ever and I can’t blame them….

We headed home, caught up on errands, chores and Easter baking and snuck in a break to walk to the playground in town to get some fresh air and exercise.  I have to admit that I love nothing more than watching Mike with the boys.  They adore their Daddy and one of the most genuine signs is hearing the boys sing to themselves when they are with Mike.  Our walk to the playground was music to my ears… lots of joyfully sung made up songs, two happy boys and two lucky parents. We headed home and Mike headed out for a night on the town with some friends while I continued the Easter preparations and bunny duties.

The boys went to bed without any arguments or stalling which is a HUGE feat and possibly a first.  I warned or perhaps I should say threatened that the bunny wouldn’t come until they were asleep and Mommy and Daddy were asleep.  I then explained the chain of effect that they must go to sleep before Mommy and Daddy can go to sleep and so began a wonderful, quiet evening! Score!!!!

I shouldn’t have been surprised that the boys woke up an hour early Sunday morning out of sheer delight that the bunny had come and left them goodie baskets!  They were well disciplined and came to get us before digging in.  They were super excited and loved all of the little trinkets they found.  We headed to church where Mike and I had nursery duty them scooted home to pack up and head to Grammie & Dziadzu’s.  We spent the day in Belchertown, relaxing, visiting and enjoying one another’s company.  It was nice to be together.  We were joined by my littlest cousin Max and his Mommy, Steph to celebrate Max’s first Easter and its always fun having little ones around.  Before we knew it, the sun was down, bedtimes had been surpassed and it was time to head home… the sign of a good day and an awful special Easter!

So I went overboard on picture taking but here are a few of my favorites…..
