Poor Aiden got the news today that one of his favorite parts of school, his assistant, Mrs. Santana will be leaving. She has a great opportunity to become a lead teacher at Annie Fisher to fill in for another teacher out on a leave but Mrs. Santana is Aiden’s little crush. He always comes telling me how she got a new hair cut, wore a new outfit or simply looked pretty. I should note that Mrs. Santana is probably in her late 40’s and as sweet as can be but perhaps we have a bit of a cougar. Needless to say, poor Aid was a bit bummed. I’m hopeful his new assistant Ms. Katherine will be just as fantastic!
Chris on the other hand came home with some new “art work” today. As he reached into the pocket of his khakis, he pulled out a small crinkled note. As he opened it, I glanced over to read “Malachi will not be eating lunch at school today. Thank you, Claudia” Humm….. not quite the artwork that I once did as a kid. Our conversation went something like this….
B: Chris do you have a classmate named Malachi
C: No
B: Well then where did this note come from? Did you find it on the floor?
C: No Mommy, I wrote it myself.
B: Wow, that’s great writing. So who’s Malachi?
C: That’s Abel’s (his best friend at school) middle name.
I’ll tell you one thing. That boy ALWAYS has an answer. The truth may be present 10% of the time and creativity the other 90%. Poor Malachi was probably forced to eat lunch twice today and well, we will likely never find out where the cute little note came from. Chris has a thing for notes. They are always quickly confiscated, especially the cute little sticky note kinds. So heed my warning and keep your notes from away from little man Chris. Ask Mamie and Grammie as they have both been victims of the sticky note bandit!
