Surprises…..

The boys had an extra special start to their week as they headed out for some Christmas shopping with Mamie yesterday.  Last year Mamie allowed the boys to chose something special for Mike and I for Christmas.  The surprise last about 1.5 second after they walked in the door and said “here Daddy, it’s a remote control truck that I got you.”  This year they came all excited with some beautifully wrapped treasures.  Mamie prepped them and they told us that the gifts were a surprise so we couldn’t know what they were.  Aiden then proceed to say “but Mommy, I got you a Christmas plate.”  As I told him that I wasn’t listening since it was a surprise, he inched closer and whispered in my ear “Mommy, it’s a Christmas plate.”  Humm… I wonder what it could be.  Chris’s hint to Mike last night was that his surprise is long, had a handle, a scoop and starts with shhhhoo.  I don’t know about you but I’m stumped.  This morning at breakfast Chris broke out with “Mommy, I got you a doggie that you can wear but your ear muffs are a surprise.”  Oh how I love these little men.  They ask every hour on the hour how much longer until Christmas.  Having wrapped presents under the tree is just killing them.

Aside from their time with Mamie yesterday, we’ve been laying low this week and moods seem to be improving.  Maybe there’s hope.  I’m a wishin and a hopin. My big project for the week was to bake and create Mike’s goodie baskets for work.  When all is said and done, my reliable and oh so wonderful Kitchen Aid mixer will have aided me in making 65 dozen cookies.  That’s no joke.  That poor Kitchen Aid was working tirelessly and was less than pleased when it realized that it wasn’t getting a break anytime soon.  The good news…. the cookies all passed the taste test and if I do say so myself, I think the baskets came out fabulous.  Over 5 pounds of deliciousness for each recipient. Thank you Mamie for watching Aiden and Chris so that I could get a huge jump start yesterday afternoon.  Tis the season to be baking!

Little man is doing well.  He’s still moving a lot and appears to be growing and growing.  This weekend we have 2 Christmas parties, one being a semi-formal for Northeast Brokerage and one being the Ptaszynski Family annual party.  Fingers crossed that I can find something that we can squeeze into.

I promised a peak at our Christmas tree cheer so here it is……(Chris – Left & Aiden – Right)

Happy 12-12-12 Everyone!!!
