Splash…..

Summer time is officially here!  Aiden and Chris still refer to school as if it is in session and I use it to my advantage when they are pushing their luck at home, reminding them that they could be in school.  Not sure it’s working but we can pretend.  We’ve spend our first week visiting with friends, relaxing at home and living in our kiddie pools {god bless the inventor of those amazing life savers!}  We are trying to have one adventure to look forward to each day and this past week we signed up for our library reading program which has some fun incentives for the kiddos.  I just love the way that some libraries have become so child friendly and I am excited that Aiden and Chris are finally old enough to enjoy some of the free events that they offer.  Jake of course is the tag along but always happily so.

Warning… Nakedness approaching…. Not sure how/why they did this but they were thrilled to be in their birthday suites! (Chris, L and Aiden, R)

This past week Jake went for his two month check up. It is confirmed that this little man is growing up way too quickly and without our permission.  He did great, even given the 3 shots and one oral vaccine he took like s champ {of course having an older brother on each side of you holding your hand and cheering you on certainly helps!} He’s 10 pounds, 6.5 ounces {8th percentile}, 23 inches {46th percentile} and saving himself for his head circumference which is in the 86%.   He’s enjoyed discovering his mouth this week.  He loves squeezing his entire fist into his mouth and when his fist can’t be found, he resorts to his arm.  Speaking of which I felt the need to explain this to the pediatrician as he has successfully given himself several arm hickies.  He loves watching and listening to people talk, focusing on your mouth and trying to mimic the movement himself and he’s starting to follow people with his face/head as they move.  It’s the little things but we still think he’s so darn irresistible.  I had a totally wonderful Mommy moment this a week as Aiden spent time on the floor with Jake, teaching him about airplanes in which Jake looked adoringly at Aiden and shared one of his biggest smiles.  It is such an awesome feeling to see them truly enjoying one another.

The boys have so many cute misunderstandings that I adore but always forget by the end of the day. This week, Aiden asked to borrow a “garden stick.” Not understanding him but trying to tread cautiously to not hurt feelings, I asked what you use it for. “Measuring things” he replied. Ahhh… yard stick, garden stick, what’s the difference?

We snuck out to the park before the heat set in Friday and enjoyed some time with good friends.  The boys just love being in the company of others.

Mike and I had quiet weekend as the two big boys spent the weekend at Grammie and Dziadzu’s.  They are in heaven being there, Mike was able {able although not thrilled} to work on the house and I was sadly enough excited to have a productive weekend!  Mike, Jake and I enjoyed some take out from Uno’s {amazing!!!} and enjoyed a quiet walk and trip to Dunkin Donuts.  It was wonderful for all of us!  Now off to get a few things done before the littles return home and the noise and level of confusion rise :)
