Slam dunk

We had a slam dunk weekend spending time with some of our favorite people.  On Friday I celebrate the anticipated arrival of my dear friend, Megan’s first daughter, Eloise.  We had a night filled with good food, great company and all too much laughing…. the ultimate sign of a good time!

We packed up and headed our early on Saturday morning to visit with GG Mimi, Grammie, Dziadzu and Auntie Laura in Belchertown.  The boys had a ball and loved seeing everyone.  We did a pre-Halloween dress rehearsal, trick or treating there as a preview of the real deal. I will leave the boys costumes a surprise until Halloween. It’s safe to say that I took the easy route and headed to good old Old Navy for some fluffy, stuffy little costumes.

Mid-day we headed to Quabbin where we met up with our friends the Schillings.  Aiden and Chris adore their girls and certainly you can’t beat a 3 on 2 ratio.  Mike and I loved chatting and catching up and despite battling some wind, we had an awesome time exploring Quabbin together.

Next we were off to Mamie and Grandpa’s where we had a fun visit with Mamie, Grandpa, Grammie Tag, and Aunt Martha who was in visiting from SC!  Aiden and Chris had plenty to share and show off and somehow managed to muster the energy to go for a little hike with Grandpa to enjoy the freshly cut path through the field.  We also all enjoyed watching the space station circling the sky … I think a first for most of us!  Aiden and Chris haven’t stopped asking questions since.

Sunday was a whirl wind.  We were up and out early for church, home for lunch.  We carved pumpkins, did weekend chores, haircuts, showers and had a quick early dinner then pack up and headed out to our small group for week # 2 of our parenting study.  Aiden and Chris have been getting away with murder with 3 late nights in a row as tonight was their first swim lesson at a fitness center in Enfield.  We’ve been happy, busy and enjoying all of the wonder of fall!

Happy almost Halloween!
