My little sunshine turned 7 months old on Monday. He truly is a ray of light. He’s contagious smile and bright eyes just light up my day. I am such a proud Momma. It’s the little things but while running errands yesterday. He caught the eye or more people than I could count. His smile is as big as his eyes and simple enough, he just loves people. While I’m not sure he has realized that he has two brothers that look the same, they are his world. He needs big eyes to take it all in!
We were at the pediatrician's last week and my little guy will forever be little. At 7 months old, he is 14 pounds, 13 ounces and in the 2nd percentile. I just love all 14 pounds to pieces!
Jacob loves his food. Hard to believe when he’s such a pip squeak but he does love eating. Nursing happens mostly at night {and yes, that means long nights…. } because he doesn’t want to miss any action. He is loving his meats and fruits and is just starting to enjoy finger foods. He’s been practicing using his sippy cup and is getting pretty good. He’s not a mover yet but is getting close. We’re getting a kick out of observing the “doggie stance” on all fours. He’s using his head as a counter sink to inch his hind legs forward but he’s successful at getting where he wants when he wants. He’s resourceful. He loves things that make sounds. He loves cell phones and he loves people watching and lots of movement. I love the innocence and curiosity. It is all new, all amazing and all perfect in his eyes. These are the moments.
Now just for fun to finish up….
Hair: Yes, lots of silky smooth, blond hair that seems to grow more overnight
Eyes: Blue although with some outfits they appear to be turning greenish/hazel. His eyes are the “talkers…” The feature that make complete strangers stop and talk
Height: Short. I don’t have the details but I am assure you that between his height and his weight, pants sized 6-12 months end up as ankle warmers in 2 second flat.
Weight: 14 pounds, 13 ounces as of 7 months old
Teeth: None and outside of the excessive drool and obsessive oral phase, there are no signs of any in the near future. This nursing Momma won’t complain!
Favorite food: Banana’s and Trader Joe’s cereal bars
Favorite activity: Watching his big brothers play with a close tie for second…. Reaching for cell phones and remote controls
Favorite toy: Anything that can go in his mouth
Favorite person: Humm…. I hate to sound pompous but I’ll take that title :) He is going through stranger anxiety early and loves to play shy guy, tucking his head into my neck as people acknowledge him.
Person that makes me laugh the most: Daddy
Person that makes me smile the most: Aiden & Chris
Happiest: First thing in the morning
Loudest: 4 pm as Mommy prepares dinner
Giggliest: Anytime he’s near Daddy or the big brothers
Worst habit: Kicking off shoes and socks within seconds. Robeez are NO match for Mr. Jake
Sleep: Overrated… Still up 2-3 times per night to feed {Judge me if you wish as I know that I have a choice in the matter but I am choosing to enjoy each quiet moment with my little main squeeze}.
Nicknames: Jakey, Beau beau {I started that but not sure why…}, little man, buddy
New Landmarks: I am now up on all fours, rocking back and forth. I have the ability to get what I want without having to crawl thanks to a heavy weight head that I use to inch my rear end forward with. I also love to stand with assistance and can easily sit up without support making playing so much more fun! I like to pretend like I am 7 months, going on 4.5 years old like my big brothers!
