Showered with love

My little nephew is so loved already!  It was a weekend of celebrations for baby boy Goodman with back to back showers on Saturday and Sunday.

My Mom and I hosted at her house on Saturday and couldn’t have asked for a better day.  Surrounded by a loving group of amazing women, Laura was blessed with so many well wishes and baby goodies.  It had been a long anticipated event for my Mom and I as the planning began months ago.  My Mom’s house looked perfect, clean and tidy inside and out.  The food was a hit and the décor came together well.  Laura is the queen of reading and as such, we felt it fitting to have an old school book themed baby shower.  I had fun with yards and yard of paper garlands sewn from books old and new and colorful tid bits of paper.  I made dozens of flowers from old recycled book pages and with only a few hot glue battle wounds.  We had a few activities to keep the guests busy and created an alphabet book for the baby with each person decorating a page.  It’s adorable and so full of love.  We also had some fun writing messages and decorating diapers to jazz up the middle of the night changing sessions for Laura and Eric. And while my morning started our sub-par {making it almost all the way to my parents in my running clothes before realizing that I left my dress up clothes, shoes and make up on my bed AT HOME}, it was full of sunshine through and through.  Laura was glowing and showered with love.

Today my mom and I headed to Rutland for Laura’s second shower hosted by her mother in law.  Held in a quaint little tea room, we were served special little treats, salad, sandwiches and tea. So fun and super yummy!  And while I had my camera, I just down right forgot to take any pictures.  Shame on me.  It was a lovely group of women and so much fun.  Laura is one well loved Momma and that little baby is oh so loved already!

Now off to catch up on some chores and get ready for the week ahead.  9 more weeks and this little babe can make his arrival!
