Woo hoo

It is with a hop, skip and a jump in my step that I share the news that I passed the state and general real estate exam.  I am beside myself excited. Truth be told, I think it took a few hours after completion of the exams before my hands stopped shaking and a few days before it truly sunk in.  Those were the three most nerve wrecking hours I’ve experienced in a long time.  In fact, I would go so far as to say that I’d rather give birth than have to start the process all over again.

After four months of class and studying day in and day out at home, this piece of the puzzle has finally fit together!  And after much thought and consideration (and of course research) I accepted a sales position at Coldwell Banker in Suffield.  As of yesterday, I am officially employed and ready to help buyers and sellers find their perfect match.  I started informal training yesterday afternoon and will return again tomorrow.  This is exciting stuff and I love that as I get started I will still be able to be home to enjoy Jacob and the big boys before any of these monkeys get any bigger.

Also among exciting news, Jacob started the Wildcats Playschool at Suffield High today.  While his inner shy guy was still in full swing, he engaged (with me along side), giggled and loved meeting his new high school friends.  For me it was a sigh of relief to see him outside of his comfort zone yet still giggling and having fun.  He is a Momma’s boy through and though and quite frankly, I am okay with that!

On the home front we continue to plug through projects.   We hope to wrap up our master bath this weekend and a few touch ups in the kitchen {pictures to come and I promise to share the long list of countertop mishaps so perhaps someone can learn from my mistakes}.  We’ve got granite ordered, a template taken and a stunning Carrera marble backsplash to follow.  I can not wait to see it all come together.  Appliances are ordered but of course on back order for 5 weeks and things are finally starting to fall into place.  Our home gets cozier by the day so stop over and visit if you’re in the area…. Just don’t be surprised if we’re covered in paint and putting you to work in the process!
