House Updates

While our moving news hasn’t seemed to be on our side, I was beside myself with excitement when I found my first “treasure” while packing.   Months back I broke my everyday camera lens and have been so discouraged using my long distance lens that I’ve resorted to taking I phone pictures exclusively.  The quality leaves a lot to be desire and while I LOVE the convenience, its been far too long since I’ve taken a real photo.  That said, I spent a few minutes in the attic this past weekend getting a handle on the items up there that will need to be tossed/recycled and packed and was thrilled to find our back up lens.  Jumping for joy and going camera happy kind of thrilled.  Mike and I thought we owned one but like our video camera that has been long gone for five years, there are certain things that mysteriously disappear and we assumed this had fallen into that category.  Huge score!

That being said, Jake has now become a huge poser and loves nothing more than pausing to declare “cheese!”  I feel like I’ve hit the jackpot.  Yeah for the upsides of packing!

We’ve got such wonderful friends and family who continue to support and inquire about our move.  We will move.  Someday.  At this point we still have no answers and no furnace resolution.  We are discouraged but not giving up hope.  The sellers received a quote for the work that needs to be done and we’ve been sitting tight for their acceptance for a week now.  The good news is that they have no choice but to fix it as anyone needing a mortgage will need a house that has both heat and running water to be approved. Since we haven’t hit the lottery, we fall into the mortgage category.  It’s so slow moving with the third party involved and with a sellers agent that fails to communicate and respond.  We’ve proposed a closing date of March 20th and are keeping our fingers crossed and prayers coming that this can work out.

In the meantime, I am crafting away and as Mike likes to call it “enjoying the calm before the storm.”   We know we’ve got a lot of work ahead of us.  I’m anxious to get started…. Mike’s enjoying this quiet and perhaps our differences are what make us a rockin and rollin team!

And in keeping life in perspective, our problems are all elective.  I know I mentioned my love for instagram and the inspiration found there.  Today a fellow instagrammer shared the following “Ask yourself daily where is God in all of this?  Has he placed you where you are for a reason?  He has not brought you this far for no reason.  Be intentional.  God has designed your today to prepare you for tomorrow.”   How wonderful and reassuring is that?
