I shared some of my projects earlier and will now catch up on our families happenings.
Thursday marks the last official (half) day of school. The big boys are excited, I’m anxious and Jake is clueless. We’ve got plans to stay busy this summer starting with swim lessons next week. We’ve got a week of vacation bible school, a week of sports camp, a week of vacation, 4 weeks of daily swim lessons, golf lessons and 3 weeks of Summer Boost offered through the school. The last few weeks at school have been filled with fun activities – field day, a field trip, game day, a nature hike and an ice cream social. I don’t think the reality of summer has set in yet for Aiden and Chris.
Last week Aiden and Chris joined Cub Scouts. They are more excited about beginning as a Tiger than they are about going to first grade. Aiden proudly wore his neck tie for much of the weekend. The activities seem to be right in line with their interests and we’re hopeful they’ll love it as much as they think they will!
The weekend before last, we participate in the Suffield Fireman’s 5K race. Mike was a great sport and let me “run” while he stayed behind at the kids pace. It was a great time and one of my best race times despite my recent lack of dedication. Aiden and Chris had a great time and are claiming to want to run with me next year. One can hope!
We’ve also snuck in some time with friends and as much outdoor playing as possible. We are loving our new location and have been taking advantage of walks/bike rides before bed. It’s a win for everyone…. fresh air, exercise and tired kiddos!
Here’s to a smooth start to summer vacation and warm, bug-less night (we’ve got killer mosquitos this year!)
