Happy Fourth! With weekends and weeks that seem to be flying by on super speed, it’s hard to believe we’re already in July!
Aiden and Chris finished their first session of swim lessons and did great! They went from pretending not to know how to swim at all to being little super swimmers at the start of their second swim session today. They love the water and the swim lessons are the perfect confidence booster.
Last Friday Mike was home and took all 3 boys fishing with our neighbors in the morning while I cleaned like a mad woman. It’s amazing how much you can get done when you’re home alone and the messes are reoccurring! Aiden and our neighbor Sarah lucked out with the only catches of the day. Later that afternoon, I had a service to head out to so Mike took all three kiddos to his parents for an afternoon of swimming and sunshine. They had a blast!
Saturday we were thrilled to spend the morning and early afternoon with our friends, the Lockes. With weather more seasonable for April, so our plans to play in the water and sun were postponed and we played and picnicked outside instead. It’s always fun to have friends to play with!
We spent the afternoon at the playground, out for a walk and icecream and back home for some sparklers before bed. The kids called it a perfect day.
Here’s a shot of one of our weekend chores to tidy up and trim out the garden area. The trap is for our gigantic bunny friends who seem to know well that its for them and are avoiding it at every cost.
Sunday Aiden and Chris headed to Grammie and Dziadzu’s to play the day away. After a sleepless night and not much energy, Mike and I did a few errands and a few chores and headed to Belchertown for dinner and to round up our troops. As always, the boys swam, played and had a ball. Dziadzu’s blueberries are ripe and wonderful this time of the year. As a child, I can remember sneaking out to fill up on blueberries in place of a meal and I found the boys doing just that. They LOVED to pick and eat to their hearts content. Jake ate so many that he declared “full belly” before heading inside. There’s nothing quite like fresh blueberries warmed by the sun and enjoyed right from the bushes!
What a wonderful weekend had by all!
