This past week was our first week at home with no week long commitments. Aiden and Chris started the week under the weather with a quick passing flu and I am oh so thankful that no one else got sick and they were feeling better within hours. Phew!
Thursday was an exciting day as our friends closed on their home here in Suffield. I was beyond thrilled to represent them as their buyers agent. Their home is just perfect and they’ve got big plans and great ideas. I couldn’t be happier for them and more grateful to them for working with me!
Mike was in a golf tournament with his Dad Friday and Saturday so the boys and I tried to stay busy. Friday we were thrilled to head to Belchertown after the boys morning golf lessons. We met Auntie Laura and baby Andrew and played the day away. What was going to be a quick visit turned into a full day of fun. Grammie and Dziadzu were planning to be away but ended up home so it was an added bonus to have their company and help. We swam, ran, played, picked garden goodies and the day flew by.
Saturday Mamie surprised me and took the boys for the afternoon to swim and play at her house. It felt amazing to grocery shop and run errands alone. Yes. ALONE! I have to admit that I was even excited to be able to clean the house knowing it would stay clean! The boys had a blast and went to lunch, swam and dug into Mamie toys and lego supplies…. it’s safe to say that they were in their glory!
The weather was beyond amazing today. We woke up and headed to church for nursery duty. After lunch we played outside for a bit and worked on a few projects. It was a relaxing, semi-productive day. Despite the kids reluctance, we went for a family walk/bike ride after dinner which is my ultimate way to end the day!
We’re looking forward to a week ahead filled with some fun with friends, the boys final golf lesson and perfect, perfect weather! For better or for worse, school starts in three weeks. While we’ll miss these lazy summer days and Jake will miss his built in playmates, I’ve come to realize this family is built for routine. Routine is just around the corner. First grade here we come…
