Ho Ho Ho!

Well, I’m giving up on the idea of playing catch up and instead am going to just jump back in.  The holiday hustle and bustle is here.  Our tree is up and according to the boys “it’s perfect!”  We opted for a pre-cut to save in the test of patience that we experienced last year at the tree farm and this years tree isn’t too shabby if I do say so myself.  It’s fun being in a new space, trying to work prior traditions and ideas in.  For the first time EVER, we have outdoor Christmas lights.  At our home on Cain Street, we had no outdoor electrical plugs and while I decorated the entrance, we never included lights.  Our space is feeling bright and cheerful.  Baking is in full swing. Cards are mailed. Shopping is complete and wrapping is mostly done.  Work and school obligations are keeping our calendars filled so I have been trying hard to stay on top of our seasonal to-do’s.

This incredible weather is hard to resist.  We enjoyed the Valley Brook Live Nativity last weekend with the best weather yet!  Aiden, Chris and I met Grammie at the Towers Theater for the Polar Express on the big screen with hot chocolate and goodies to boot!  Aiden, Chris and their buddy from school, Nathan had their first official friend play date at our house (without parents staying.)  We’ve hiked and explored and enjoyed many nights of bonfires.  These days are special that’s for sure!

And the icing on the cake, I had teacher conferences last week and the boys are doing amazing and well, that’s reason to celebrate and take a break with a surprise slushy post-school date.
