Baby Class!

First I just need to say that I LOVE the snow!  It was so perfect waking up this morning to a gorgeous dusting of snow and a peaceful, undisturbed landscape.  I know I won't be able to use the word "peaceful" to describe our lives in a few months so I am getting it out of my system now!

Yesterday Mike and I took a one day child birthing express class at Baystate Hospital. It was 7 hours or listening and learning and what an experience....  I think the natural birth and C-Section videos were both "eye openers" but we also felt like we learned a lot of general advice and were glad to have taken one more step to be prepared for their arrival.  As part of the day, we were given a tour of the hospital and the only babies in the nursery were two twin boys, 7+ pounds each and absolutely adorable.  The class has elevated our anticipation for their arrival.   It has also made me realize that whether I believe it or not, I am going to HAVE to learn to nap when the babies do.  I have never been able to take a nap in my life and I think the one piece of advice that we keep hearing over and over is that you need to sleep when the baby, or babies in our case sleep... so this will be one of the many things that I will learn as part of being a parent I guess.

We had previously heard that with births of multiples, you will always deliver in the OR, as opposed to a normal delivery room just so that if there are any concerns, they are able to address them right away.  This was confirmed yesterday and we also learned that since we will be in the OR for delivery, regardless of whether it is C-Section or natural birth, we are only allowed to have one person in the room, which will be Mike.  We were both kind of bummed and I'm not exactly sure how Mike will manage to be my labor coach, our family photographer and videographer (still under consideration for the video idea) ... This will be the beginning of multitasking for Mike :)

Tomorrow is our next ultrasound  week 24.  We are SO excited to see the boys and I am very anxious to find out who is responsible for kicking my butt and hiding out in my ribs still! I finally gave in and took some tylenol this week but I can't imagine keeping up with that until the end..... So I hope to get some good suggestions at tomorrows appointment.

I will try to post again early this week (hopefully tomorrow) with updated pictures and news of which baby is our trouble maker!

I thought the best part of Lamaze class was the tour of the nursery. Oh and the massages from Wes while I "praticed" breathing.

Jess, you are totally right, the massage was the BEST part! It might even make it worth it to go back for a review session in a few weeks :)

Juliet, if you get any good suggestions from random ducky, please let us know. I know you are still convinced that we might be having a girl! I had them double check today and the chances aren't super likely but you never know!
