Aiden (L) and Chris (R) enjoying watching the snow falling before taking their afternoon naps. Not many babys have a HUGE window with a view like they have!
Chris's new obsession is with helping to turn on the light/fan in the nursery. It brings a guaranteed smile to his face!
In trying to get the boys used to the idea of birthday hats, Mike gracious played along with me and got the boys Burger King hats. Chris is not a fan of hats recently so his was short lived but we managed to sneak in a picture with a smile and all!
Aiden is not too sure about his crown either as he poses with Auntie Laura.
The boys love nothing more than raiding the fridge. I gave in this week and let them play (and throw around all of my fruit) for about 10 minutes. After picking up all of the tossed items and closing the fridge, I thought I was safe. That only last about 2 minutes until Aiden magically found a kiwi that was hidden somewhere and decided to eat it like an apple. Why is it that he actually enjoyed when he ate it skin and all but spit it out when I sliced it and fed it to him???
We are making progress and have exciting news to report. Aiden officially has the early signs of his very first tooth! When he bites, he now hurts! Although you can only see the top of his tooth, it is certainly well on it's way and his night time wakefulness helps to reinforce this idea! He is being a trooper and gnawing away on everything!
Christopher also has exciting news and is now letting go of nearby objects and standing without assistance for up to about 5 seconds. Yesterday he let go of the couch to take a step or two to Grampie Hopkins! He doesn't quiet seem to notice what he is able to do yet and I am happy keeping it that way :)
We have had a great week. Grammie Hopkins came over on Monday and Tuesdays so that I could help Mike with some work and get some of my errands done. We also snuck out for a walk yesterday and went to the CT bike path. The weather was gorgeous and we all enjoyed the fresh air, sunshine, milder temps and great company! The boys also had a record night of story reading yesterday. Mike had a late night at work and I had a captive audience and managed to sneak in 16 bedtime stories before they started to get restless!
With the snow today, we hope our neighbors are up for the task of clearing their sidewalks and so we keep up with our walking groove! Less than one week until Aiden and Chris turn one!!!
By the way, does anyone have any tricks for stopping one year olds from spitting food while they eat??? I have two mini monsters when it comes to meal time and am open to any and all suggestions!
P.S. Caitlin, the maple syrup is working like a charm. I have been adding a drop to everything they aren't willing to eat and with much success!! Thank you again :)
