19 Days Until Xmas!

Just for fun, here is Aiden (first pic and right) and Chris (second pic and left) last year at this time. Really this was only a year ago? Unbelievable!

Chris (L) and Aiden (R) helping me decorate a little xmas tree for their room. For as quickly as the decorations were hung, they were taken off twice as fast! And yes, Chris is keeping his cozy coupe close to his watch!

Aiden (L) and Chris (R) both hopped in the same Cozy Coupe to take it for it's first spin.

Aiden very much relieved that he has a car of his own!

Chris, the master unwrapper is very good at opening presents one little shred at a time to be sure that he collects all of the trash as he goes. It's a good thing they are getting plenty of practice before Christmas and they are sure to be experts come their birthday in February!

If you notice Aiden in the background, this is one of his poses he does when he is mad - kind of entertaining if you ask me. Can't help but laugh!

Someone must have created this built in drawer/seat especially for Aiden. This was a first!

Peak a boo - It's funny when they really don't think that you can see them through the slats in the chair! Aiden (L)and Chris (R)

Chris with his arms up, ready to be tickled! Haha, his hat makes him look a little like the robber from Home Alone.

Chris all bundled up for a cozy day inside.

Aiden says "wow, look at my new gloves!"

You may think this looks like a drum but really its yet another seat for Aiden. Maybe we should take the hint and invest in some seats for little tikes?

Sunday post take two... apparently the first one didn't want to save for me when my computer froze - bummer! Let's try this again....

It has been a week... a week of nothing with a little bit of crabbies mixed in! Chris was up on Wednesday night with a fever ranging from 102-104. Thankfully after a rough night, he woke up and the fever was gone but our pediatrician wanted to see him anyways since he had been fighting a cold for over 3 weeks. Poor little tike turned out to have his first ear infection and both he and Aiden have sinus infections. We have nicknamed Chris "Crabby Chris" this week mainly to have something to laugh about since he has been less than his happy, easy going self. You can tell that he doesn't know what to do with himself and to top it off, he is pointing to his mouth saying "boo boo." Not sure if that is teeth, ears or throat but we are hoping that the days continue to get easier for him. In light of the boys being sick, we stayed home ALL week long! It was quiet and relaxing but a very demanding week so I was very excited when the weekend rolled around and Daddy was here for backup duty!

Saturday morning we spent some time with Grammie and Grandpa Hopkins. The boys had a great time and enjoyed their first Dunkin Munchkins. Aiden tried a nibble of every flavor while Chris chose to just hold his and take a lick or two of the powered sugar. You know, just enough to make a mess! On our way home, we stopped over to see Great Grammie's new place. It was a playground for the boys as Daddy made a super awesome tunnel out of all of Great Grammie's moving boxes. What could be better!

After naps, Grammie & Dziadzu Pt came over and brought some yummy pizza and more Christmas surprises for the boys - Their own cozy coupes and tractor books! Life is good for the two new drivers in our family! After some frustrating assembly (who knew that a cozy coupe required assembly in the first place?), the boys were ready to break in their new set of wheels and haven't stopped since. It's perfect because they can enjoy them indoors and keep themselves busy throughout the winter before they really get broken in, mud and all and have to stay outside this spring!

Mike and I headed to the movies and out to run some errands last night and Grammie and Dziadzu were in charge. I think the visit was enjoyed by all of us!

Today Daddy was on duty while I enjoyed a baby shower for my friend Lynn, from Umass. It was so wonderful to see her carrying her first bundle of joy (a baby boy!) and so fun to catch up and chat with other friends from Umass. I even enjoyed the hour of quiet on the road each way. I don't think I have had that much quiet in a very LONG time! Mike did an unbelievable job holding down the fort, keeping the house clean, staying on top of administering the boys meds and keeping them as happy as they were willing to be! We bundled up when I got home and enjoyed a few minutes of fresh air as we headed to Stoney Brook Park next door and out for a short backpack jaunt. I LOVE having an area that we can pack up and explore. Life is good and we hope to get back on track this week so keep your fingers crossed and your prayers coming for improved health and forgotten crabbiness!

New words this week are "ta-da" which has been said when they turn on the lights again and again and again; onion (for onion rings which were NOT a hit), auntie, and help. "Help" has been a great word for them to learn as it seems to be reducing some of the frustration. With a little gentle reminder, they can say help rather than getting upset and I jump at the chance to get help when they use their words. It's been great for all of us!
