I apologize as I am not able to post new pics tonight. I do have a few so they will be up as soon as my computer cooperates!
The "sounds of the season" that are ringing again and again for the Hopkins are different than most. They are the voices of two little tikes who LOVE to say "up please"…. But on repeat - again and again and again. I am thrilled as we have been working on teaching Aiden and Chris their manners so to hear them say "please" is music to my ears. I am sore however because as you can imagine, it is hard to resist a tiny, innocent voice that requests to be held which leads to one mule horse, Momma! The boys are little chatter boxes and continue to try new words everyday. They still have their favorites, "tractor," "truck," "choo-choo," and such but their newest interest over the holiday weekend was trying to say people's names. I think they have learned that it is very effective – smart little guys!
This is our first week of no playschool. It's been quiet but enjoyable. On Monday after waiting out the storm, we were happy to pack up, get out and head to Belchertown to visit Grammie and Dziadzu Pt. It was a Christmas get together with my mom's family and the boys were in heaven! In no time at all, they had warmed up to all of their extended cousins and aunts/uncles and were teasing and playing with anyone willing. As a parent, it is great to see your kids enjoying the ones that you too love. So fun! We headed home for another late holiday night. I think the boys now think they are tweens since they have been staying up until 8-9 pm with the holiday festivities! We were thrilled to see cousins and aunts and uncles from NC, MI FL, and MA. We were also excited to see Grammie, Dziadzu, Auntie Laura, Uncle Dan & Eric.
Tuesday morning we were sad to say goodbye to the boy's newest playmate, Uncle Dan. He was lucky to head back to the sunny but cool Florida weather, leaving behind the snow that just buried the rest of us! Dan and Grammie Pt. stopped over to play for a bit before Uncle Dan boarded his plane. We were sad to see him go and hope to convince him to come back again next week J
Last night I was excited to head out for a fun ladies night with my friends Leeanne and Juliet. There is nothing like a night out with great friends, delicious food and entertaining conversations! Thanks ladies, I needed that!
Today Mammie Hopkins came over to see A & C and I headed out for a failed attempt to find eggnog. Really, it's gone just like that? I was hoping for a few more weeks of deliciousness for the boys but I have resorted to trying a new homemade recipe (no worries, it is with cooked egg yolks) tonight. We shall see if it passes their taste test! If not, Mike and I may be gaining 10 pounds each before the New Year!
The boys and I battled the snow this afternoon and headed out for our first walk since the snowfall. It was actually our first walk in a few weeks. My old age got the best of me and my foot helped me make the decision that I should take a few weeks off from exercise. I am not sure if it was a small stress fracture, bad bruise or old hobbly lady syndrome but I am thrilled to be back to normal and exercising again. The walk was quite the workout as NO ONE shoveled their walkway wide enough for a double stroller. I know I joked about it last year, but I am really thinking I may need to invest in a plow for my stroller or it could be a long winter inside! Mammie and Grandpa Hopkins got me new wheels for my stroller for Christmas so I am riding in style with NO flat tires! Woo hoo.. Suffield, here we come!
