My cheeseballs. Chris (L) and Aiden (R)
Chris. Love that grin. Love this kid. Soo Lucky I got two for one!
Aiden spent Friday afternoon and night in the water. He is a professional splasher.
A preview of our time at Sunset Park beach Friday.
Daddy and Aiden. The water was too cold for Mommy but I was happy to supervise and take pictures!
Christopher. One happy camper.
Aiden, Chris and Georgie. In keeping with tradition, Georgie shared a passionate kiss with the boys before leaving.
Chris, Georgie & Aiden. Enjoying the sunshine and time together.

So I selectively chose to keep my post short Wednesday to (A) enjoy other enjoyables and (B) to selectively choose to forget the beginning of the week. I mentioned Mike was traveling and as a result, A & C were "testy." I was grateful to have a visit from Grammie Pt on Monday night… a total mood changer for the boys and happy to see Mamie Hopkins Tuesday morning and Dziadzu Pt Tuesday evening. The in between time was filled with me, A & C and lots of "us" time. They were sick of me to put it simply and I can't blame them! Between the rain and single parent party, we were all getting cranky.

Wednesday was a welcomed changed. A mood lifter for all and the sunshine felt amazing! I will take that birthday present any day! We enjoyed playing the morning away with Calvin and came home to spend some more time outside. Thank you everyone for the warm, wonderful birthday wishes! I am felt loved and special all day long! Thursday we had a fun day with Ashley. She wasn't feeling great and was all cuddly so I was in my glory. Aiden and Chris also wanted to be big helpers, following my lead in rubbing her back. So sweet. Thursday night I was super excited to see the movie Bridesmaids. What a laugh! I had a great night out with Leeanne, Jill and Laura and really enjoyed the humor. So fun. Dziadzu also stopped over and rototilled our garden so we are ready for planting. I can't wait! (Hopefully tomorrow!) Aiden and Chris were happy to see Dziadzu's smiling face.

Friday we had a ball. We played and played and played outside. Our friends Jen and Georgianna came for a visit from California. It was so nice to sit and chat and catch up with Jen while the kids ran around and played. Georgie is so big and so sweet and I felt so lucky to spend a morning with them enjoying the sunshine. Boy do we miss them. The day continued to get better as Daddy surprised us and came home early! What perfect weather to have an afternoon with Daddy. We were so excited and packed up and headed out to the beach at Sunrise Park. The night was perfect. The boys were in their glory and the weather was amazing. Truly, a fun time.

Saturday we headed to visit Grandma Tess in the nursing home. Aiden and Chris were about as shy as I have ever seen them. They clung. Poor Mike got his arm workout with one on each side. Chris buried his face under his Red Sox hat. He literally couldn't see. Thankfully after about an hour, they opened up and started to feel a bit more comfortable. I guess maybe its a bit intimidating when you had SO many strangers ooing and ahhhing over you from the moment you walk in the front door. I am not sure they have many young visitors often. It was great to see Tess and I think she got a kick out of hearing how much A & C are talking now.

After nap, we headed to Grammie and Dziadzu's. I was the lucky one, as it was my family birthday party! I had a delicious meal of my choice and amazing cheesecake yum. And you guessed it, I was spoiled. My friend Leeanne came too and we had a fun visit afterward. Aiden and Chris love Grammie and Dziadzu's house and were excited to see Maddie (my parents dog)< Crammie (my parents cat) and Hoagie (Auntie Laura and Eric's dog). We had a relaxing morning today before heading to Dover to celebrate my cousin, Marty's graduation. What perfect weather and great company. Aiden and Chris thought the day was about them and tried to steal the show. Although we skipped naps, they had a blast and seemed to keep their spirits up all day. They saved their meltdowns for the ride home but thankfully bedtime was a breeze.

So, what have you been up to? I am so in love with summer and can't get enough of it!

Some of my favorite weekly moments:
- Aiden's new word "drinky " used when describing his melting ice cream.
- Aiden's fabulous tale. As we crossed a bridge in Enfield he told Mike he had a boat. Mike "oh yeah, buddy. Where do you keep it?" Aiden "the ocean." Mike "where did you get it?" Aiden "a tag sale." Mike "when?" Aiden "17." Really? Where do they come up with these things! The funniest part is that he is sticking with this story, almost a week later.

-Some may think it strange but earlier this week, the boys ate a fabulous dinner. To encourage them, I asked them whether they wanted a fruit freeze pop or an ice cream cone for dessert. His reply "water please." If he keeps this up, he will be a cheap date someday for some lucky lady!

PS - Anyone want a cat? We came home after being gone more than 24 hours to have Cali greet us in the backyard. Flea bath here we come!
