Duct tape danger

Boy this weekends weather feels like a step back in time to a few months ago. 100 degrees one day, then some stormy weather followed by a cold and rainy weekend. Where is the sunshine? This rain is putting a damper in some of our fun plans!

Each week seems to present a new challenge. This week is a rip your diaper off and throw it contest. This includes seeing who can urinate all over their bed as well. Uggh. Really? How do kids learn these things? SO… desperate times call for desperate measures. Duct tape being one of those measures. After 3 days of consistently less sleep and over tired, edgy boys, I decided to have the duct tape help me keep Aiden and Chris's diapers on. A & C were excited about it!Unfortunately they were also able to monkey out of it, Aidens around his ankles and Chris's ripped off anyways. We have resorted to backwards diapers and onesies with snaps. But, if anyone has ANY suggestions, please, please, please let me know! These extra loads of laundry are going to take about 10 years of like off of my 40 year old washer and dryer!

We had a fun day with Ashley on Thursday. The heat kept us inside and grateful for AC for most of the day.

Friday we were excited to meet baby Ashley and her mom in the morning for a while and we got to say a quick goodbye to our friends Adam and Jenny who are moving :( As we were on our way home, A & C voiced an opinion that they wanted to say out for a while and since we had been stuck inside because of the heat previously, I was quick to agree. We checked out the wooden tractor and riding horses at East Granby Farms and drove around town for a bit. These boys love to get out of the house.

Saturday we enjoyed a fun morning with our friends Mathieu, Caroline and Rob. We had big plans of going to the Forest Park Zoo but the weather man had a different idea and a rainy zoo visit didn't sound too appealing. We met up at the JCC in Longmeadow and let the boys run wild. They have a great facility filled with tumbling mats and slides and the boys were in their glory. After we enjoyed some delicious pizza and headed home for naps before heading to Belchertown. A & C had a special sleepover at Grammie and Dziadzu's last night! No special occasion, just for fun and fun it was! Mike and I enjoyed a relaxing dinner out and came back for a movie and quiet evening.

The house seemed to echo without A & C but Mike and we made the most of the day and after our nursery duty at church this morning, we grabbed a quick lunch and decided to enjoy a break in the weather by going for a long walk along the CT River. It was great! Peaceful, enjoyable and fun. We ran a few errands afterward and headed home to catch up on some chores. Grammie, Dziadzu, GG and the boys met us for dinner at our house and we all enjoyed reviewing the weekend and hearing all about the highlights of the boys trip. I made my first ham ever and it actually came out great. What a weekend for all of us! Is tomorrow really Monday? The good news is that with each passing day, we get one day closer to vacation! Two weeks and RI, here we come.... Thank you Grammie and Dziadzu for the special weekend for all of us!

PS- A & C are taking some interest in the potty! I have cute pictures but certainly not blog appropriate! Aiden did his first poop on the potty on Friday! Baby steps :)
