Shame on me - I only have one picture of the boys swimming at Mamies and Mamie took it! I need to get my camera "back in business"

I just got rocked. Head to toe and in places that only your husband should know exist. Seriously, I am 100% confident that my bug spray was some kind of experiment. The mean kind. I was attempting to weed my garden which is now a year overdue and now have at least 50 welts that I collected within 10 minutes. Wowzers! Lesson learned - the mosquito's win! I know God has a plan for everything, but really, mosquitos?

On a celebratory (is that a word? If not, I like it!) note, we are making good progress potty training. I don't have my hopes up but so far, we have many dry diapers at night and many, many successes during the day! If we could have this thing licked by the fall, I would be in my glory! If not, well there is always next year.

So speaking of changes, my little men are getting in their molars and along with that fun is the newly rediscovered stage of biting. This time, instead of teethers, they are choosing each other and leaving some pretty serious battle wounds. Please tell me this stage will only last a few weeks more....

Aside from the killer mosquitos and typical day to day challenges of raising two - two year olds, life is grand. Truly, we have had an amazing week. Monday we went to our friend Caroline's for an awesome time swimming in their pool. After naps, Daddy packed up the boys and brought them to Mamies for more swimming. Aiden is a water bug and LOVES playing in the pool. Chris on the otherhand is a bit more cautious and would prefer to cheer Aiden on from the sidelines. In time I am sure this will change.

Tuesday Mamie came to play with Aiden and Chris while Mike and I went to work. They boys love their time with Mamie and the arrangements couldn't be better. We are SO grateful. Of note Tuesday was Auntie Laura's 33rd birthday! Happy, happy birthday you spring chicken, you!

Today we went to "The Cove" in Barkhampsted, CT with 5 groups of Mommie friends and had a blast. The water was warm and clear and there were so many things to see and do. I think we all wished that we could have stayed all day but I came home for attempted naps around 1 and didn't get them to sleep until almost 3:30. They have a mind of their own and think they dont' need sleep. Mommy thinks otherwise(esp. when they are waking up at 5:10 am!!!) ! We are so lucky to have such fun friends!

It is a quiet week for me as Mike is working late a bit and has a few fun nights planned. I am catching up on cleaning and organizing and realize that it is a never ending battle but the day to day clean up can be rewarding, right? My dry storage and laundry room are now organized. Yippee

PS - I am thinking of starting a sleep training boot camp. I obviously have NO wisdom to share in this area as I feel like a complete failure with 2 year olds sleeping a TOTAL of 8-9 hours per day but perhaps I could start a business where you could pay to send your children away and specialists could reform their habits and send them back all fresh and new? Sounds like a good deal to me!

When I worked in the day care biting happened more so out of frustration of not being able to vocolize what they wanted. A specific toy, food, book, you name it. Although we had a mini fridge that the kids had full access to and thats where we kept the teethers, the whole independence thing. (this was with 3 infants under a year and 5 toddlers from 1 to 3 all at one time) Good luck!!
