Sometimes it's the little things that crack me up and keep me going.
Like Chris insisting that he keep his one hand out from under his covers when he sleeps because that hand as a special stamper on it.
...Or Aiden insisting on "one more hug" before bed, using it as a ploy to keep me in their room as long as possible at night. I will miss these days in no time at all.
... Or Chris last night telling me as I laid him down to sleep that he "love my hair, loves my eyes, loves my earrings ("they're bootiful".. mind you I JUST started wearing earring again since being pregnant), loves my big cheeks (not sure about the big part?!?). I told him I loved everything about him and he asked "okay, what about AD (Aiden). Always looking out for one another.
... Or teaching them if they are ever REALLY in trouble when they are in their room "sleeping" they can say Mommy, "emergency" and Momma will come in right away. It's amazing how this conversation quickly turns into the story of the little boy who cried wolf when Aiden declares that it's an emergency minutes after I leave because he needs milk. We'll work on that one!
Oh how I love them...
We've had a great week and actually a new "first." Monday night when I went to check on them before going to bed myself, I found both boys in the same bed. I am guessing it was a planned "move" as Aiden brought his favorite blanket, Ollie stuffed doggie and favorite truck on his way to Chris's bed. It's kind of cute that they wanted to be together although from the screeches I heard before they fell asleep I am not certain that it was consensual on Chris's part. He's just a good sport and I think he's realized Aiden's persistence.
It's been a fun week of the usual sort. A great play date with Mathieu at the mall play scape on Monday, a great day with Mamie and a surprise visit from Grandpa H. on Tuesday, a play date with baby Ashley this morning, followed by a walk and library visit this afternoon. Tomorrow we are excited to have more sunshine and more time with baby Ashley! Hip hip hooray!
