Pumpkin time

Always causing trouble....

Even with Mom right behind the camera.

Selecting their beautiful pumpkins from Dziadzu's garden! They couldn't decide on just one so Dziadzu let them each pick two!

Aiden's BIG decision... the hunt for the biggest pumpkin.

Welcoming Dziadzu home from work on Saturday night.

We are happy campers to have Daddy home! Mike joined the men in his family for a guys weekend in the Cape and had a great time! We missed him but enjoyed some time at Grammie and Dziadzu's Friday night and Saturday. Since Saturday rainy and cold, Grammie and I packed up the boys and headed out for a drive. We stopped at Yankee Candle where Aiden and Chris loved the toy store. Santa was there to make an appearance and you could decorate a pumpkin with Santa. Boy are they getting creative with their marketing and ploys for ALL of your money! The Christmas countdown according to Yankee Candle is 84 days. We had a great time! We loved the "real" fake falling snow, moving trains, toys, glow room, ship, candy room, snacks and wishing wells. It is amazing how much time and money you can spend in that store!

We came home for bedtimes last night and had a bit of a disastrous morning today. Poor Chris was sick and lucky Mommy got to clean it up! Thankfully all embarrassment was avoided as it happened just before we left for church. I in the meantime was trying to do some baking and almost managed to burn down the house. No one got hurt but I know A & C were scared when the oven literally sounded like it exploded them caught fire. Humm... what to do? I panicked and called my Dad. At his recommendation, shut the oven off and the flames eventually died down and went out. When Mike got home we investigated and found that the heating element in the bottom literally blew in half creating small metal balls somehow in the process. Sounds like a science experiment, doesn't it? I had the boys hiding in the living room and am now oven less until we see if it is repairable. I am going to go through baking withdrawal so watch our world when it is back up and running! Be prepared to gain 10 pounds if you stop over after my oven is functioning again. :)

Last Thursday was a great day with Ashley followed by a fun play date with Mathieu and Caroline. I had a proud Mommy moment as I was driving the car in the rain and Chris looked out the window, saw someone running in the rain and said "look at that poor guy." I asked what he meant and he said "he's getting all wet, it's raining." Simple, yes, but it's the first time either one of the boys have showed empathy toward someone other than themselves or one another. He was also pretty cute in that he wore his puppy dog costume to the mall because he told me it would protect him from the rain. We turned many heads and received many smiles but I wouldn't have it any other way.
I had to share today's word of the day, created by Chris "tuggled" meaning tucked and snuggled. Makes me laugh.
