A new week with new hopes… .

It has been a long week… a very long week…..Oct 13-16, 2011 037

Aiden and Chris were sick from Tuesday night – Saturday and still aren’t back to themselves.  Mike and I were quickly reminded what sleepless nights with infants were like during this adventure and we are oh so thankful to be getting some sleep again.  As you can imagine, it was a quiet week.  We cancelled ALL plans and pretty much just camped out at home.  I think its safe to say that Aiden is sick of Chris and Chris is sick  of Aiden and they are both sick of me and quite honestly the feeling is mutual.  The good news is that the fevers are gone and as of this afternoon the stuffiness seems to be gone too!  Phew… we made it….. 5 days later.

We did have a surprise visit from Great Grammie Tag on Wednesday who brought over a special tractor magnet for Aiden and Chris that was the bright spot in their day.  We felt bad that their germs put a damper in the visit but it was great to see her, even if brief.

We missed playdates all week but Dziadzu braved it and came to keep us company on Friday.  Aiden and Chris immediately light up and were thrilled to see someone other than me!

My dear friend Kym turned 30 this week and we were excited to join in her surprise birthday celebration on Saturday night.  Unfortunately because A & C had been down and out for so long, we left them and their cooties at Grammie and Dziadzu’s but they were in their glory and were loving their special time. It was  a great day for all.

Other highlights:

  • Cali got a MUCH needed “lion” hair do.  She came home smelling like a rosy scented old lady. The boys think it is hysterical and love having their own lion.  I will see if I can snap a picture this week for your entertainment.
  • In anger, Chris told me that I looked like a garbage truck. That’s a first for me and  I couldn’t help but laugh.
  • Cain Street got paved!  The road is still a mess and in one heavy rain our driveway was washed out but at least it looks clean.
  • We have been doing a MAJOR overhaul in our basement.  We are shifting the set up and are hoping to someday create a playspace.  I am super excited and have decided that I need to start playing the lottery so we can get this project moving along quickly!
  • I discovered Windows Live Writer for blogging and am in LOVE!

They paved your road? That's awesome! They've been working on ours for over a month now. Can't wait until it's done.
Glad the boys are feeling better now.
