What have we been up to? Where have we been lately? Well A & C have taken quite a liking to hiding under the covers in mine and Mike’s room. (See picture below) The funny thing is that they actually think that we can’t see them. And if we’re being honest, I play along. It gives me a few minutes of peace.
We have been baking up a storm lately! We baked 25 dozen cookies, 2 nights in a row. As you can imagine, lots of flour, sugar, butter and of course lots of dishes! We have been busy beavers and I think I was officially cookied out… for one day at least. We’ve been baking again this weekend and tomorrow will hopefully be the last day of Mike’s deliveries of work baskets. It’s fun but it’s a process and I am oh go glad its not a monthly occurrence.
Outside of running our oven for nearly 48 hours straight last week, we had a fun dinner with one of Mike’s co-workers on Friday night. Aiden and Chris were busy quizzing poor John, asking him all about his animals, favorite colors and about the toys he has. Be forewarned, if you enter our house, you will be peppered with an endless game of 20 questions! We also enjoyed a visit from Mamie on Friday afternoon to do a bit of baby shower planning for Auntie Sarah. In case you haven’t heard we are SO very thrilled to be welcoming not just one but TWO nieces this spring! Yes, Sarah is pregnant with twins that they believe to be identical! We are excited to celebrate the arrival of the babies and are working on some of the details for the shower in January.
Saturday we enjoyed getting a few things done around the house in the morning. I had a quick shopping trip with my friend Gina, we worked on the basement and got the boys packed for a fun overnight trip at Grammie and Dziadzu’s. Grammie came to pick the boys up mid-day and I jumped into some Christmas wrapping. Aiden and Chris had the time of their lives, helping them cut down a Christmas tree and playing like crazy. Mike and I headed to Marlborough, CT for the Northeast Brokerage Christmas party. It was a fun, late night of visiting and we were oh so thankful to have some time to get ready and the morning to stay in bed after a late night. Sometimes its fun to get dressed up but boy and I glad to have sweatpants to come home to!
This morning we had nursery duty at church then we scooted back home to wrap up a few projects before I headed to pick up the boys and Mike had his dad over to help with some pipes in the basement. The basement is looking great and we were SO thankful to have a handyman Grandpa. Thank you Grandpa Hopkins for coming to the rescue!
Here is a picture of Mike and I on our night out.
Two weeks from today is Christmas. Are you in the Christmas spirit yet? If not, look me up and the boys and I will share some of our cheer!

Cute Pic. The dress looks great! Did you decide on no sweater?
