Happy birthday beautiful girls!

It is with so much joy and excitement that we congratulate Sarah and Jerry on the birth of their two precious little girls who arrived today, one week early.  Happy, happy birthday Baby A and Baby B!  We can not wait to meet you and sneak many, many snuggles!  Thank you for making us aunties, uncles and big cousins!

Not much can triumph that joy but, today starts a new chapter in our lives as I began a new part-time job, putting Dziadzu on sitter duty!  I am excited to have an opportunity to work on Wednesday and Friday afternoons doing some administrative work for a dear friends mother.  Today was my official first day although I started last Saturday learning some of my goals and responsibilities in my new role.  I am super excited and have so many ideas floating around in my head…. Now to put them into action…..

Monday Aiden and Chris headed to their first dental cleaning appointment. I couldn’t be prouder.  They were troopers.  They were brave.  They listened and followed direction and even relaxed.  Cleaning # 1 with two shiny smiles is a total success in my book.  Thank you to Dziadzu who came along to be the second set of eyes and playmate for the little man waiting while I cheered them on in the dental chair.  Let’s hope they have better dental success than Mike and I!  So clean teeth and two thumbs up from the dentist along with the recommendation that we should start to prepare my minds and our budgets for braces.  Small mouths, small teeth and crowding of their teeth starting at age 3.  We also ran some errands, went to the library, spend 45 minutes in the Dollar Store as they both decided on how to spend their first earned $1.  The final result, two happy boys, full tummies and messy ice cream sandwiches, the perfect recipe for a sunny spring day!

Mamie came yesterday and Mike and I headed to work.  We are truly so thrilled and so lucky to have such involved parents.  Seriously, how many little boys can say that they see their grandparents more days of the week than not.  Three cheers for living so close to those we love. The boys headed to Mamie and had a wonderful time playing pretend outdoors while taking in some sun.  They were treated to lunch out with Mamie and Grandpa and spent much of their day outside and what a day it was!

Today went well for all of us.  It is going to take some motivation to get out of my sweatpants 4 days a week now but it so good for our family.  Aiden and Chris loved their time and got to see Dziadzu, Grammie and GG Mimi and were begging to sleep over.  We also went to check out Quabbin Reservoir before meeting up with Dziadzu to switch keepers.  I forgot how easy it is to fall in love with the serenity  there and how quickly it can be disturbed by the energy of two – 3 year olds!  So different after 9-11 but still so fun!

Tomorrow we look forward to a day with Ashley and a day filled with more sunshine and much needed time outside playing. Here’s to our early start to spring!

Funny quote of the week:  Chris says “Mommy is Grammie a nurse?  Me “yes, she is.”  Chris “Mommy, is Grammie busy nursing then?”  Hummm….
