Instead of blogging myself I find myself checking out everyone else’s blogs on this cold fall night. I am the BEST procrastinator! But, it has been a great weekend with some fun times to share!
We had a busy end to our week. We had two playdates Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. I was thrilled to see friends and so excited to have a scheduled activity to help pass some rainy, cold afternoons.
Friday, we had Mike’s Aunt Patti and Uncle Carl over for dinner. It was nice to have some adult conversation and great to catch up once we got our monkeys in bed.
Saturday Mike was a sport and took A & C to the Jump Zone in Canton, Ct to celebrate their friend, Jack’s 4th birthday. 4…. getting so big yet still so innocent. They had a blast and come home with big plans for their own 4th birthday party. Let’s just say Mike and I would have to start saving {and possibly refinance the house} to help them realize their birthday dreams! It’s a good thing they are still at a wonderful age for negotiations!
I had fun prepping some photo props for some fun engagement pics for my sister and Eric. We shared many laughs and captured some great moments as we headed to Northwest Park and around town. We were thrilled to see them and so excited to have them over to visit for a while. Now if only they could move their house plans to Suffield… {yes Laura, I will still be working on you…. day in…. and day out…. after all, that’s what sisters are for!}
Today we headed to church, with a meeting following and we headed home to get some chores done. For an afternoon with no scheduled plans, it certainly seemed to fly. Mike made a fire {and is adamantly opposing turning the heat on…} There is nothing like a cozy fire on a chilly relaxed afternoon… ahhh….
Tonight we had our first “small group” meeting with some friends from church. The kids all played well and we really enjoyed ourselves. This was week one of a six week study so we will be excited to get to know some friends better, both old and new.
My “share story” of the weekend pertains to Chris. I have noticed lately that whenever I kiss him, he is quick to wipe it off. I wasn’t sure how to interpret that so I finally asked him this week. The conversation went a little something like this:
B:“Chris, how come it seems like you’re wiping off Mommy’s kisses.”
C: “Mommmmmy, I’m not wiping them OFF, I’m wiping them IN”… {of course expressed with a duhhh attitude}
Silly me…. So glad I got that clarified!
