It is really Sunday night already? Seriously? What happened to the weekend? I have to admit that with Aiden and Chris in school Monday-Friday now, I cherish my weekends and our family time/down time. Rushing out in the morning, especially as the days are getting colder and frosty quickly brings me back to my school days and the dread of homework and never ending projects. Thankfully, I can remind myself that it has been 13 years since I have been in school… Yikes. It won’t be long until I will have been out of school as long as I have been in. A scary thought!
We welcomed the surprise sunshine today and fully took advantage of being able to get a few outdoor chores done. My garden is in decent {not great but it could be worse} shape and the lawn is half mowed and for today, that’s good enough! We had full day. After church we met Mamie and Grandpa for lunch at the Summer House. Aiden and Chris were thrilled that the sun appeared and they could burn some energy outside rolling down the hill and driving the train. We were thrilled to visit then headed home to start some chores. We wrapped up early to head to our small group and are settling back in, preparing for the week to start.
I was convinced that we were going to be chilled to the bone as headed to Foster Family Farms with our friends Caroline, Rob and Mathieu but pleasantly, the sun peaked out and the layers of clothing certainly helped! The boys were at the perfect age and had a BLAST! They loved everything about it and after nearly 4 hours there, we had to pry them away to get them home. They even enjoyed the corn maze this year and we were happy parents as the day of busyness made for a good nights sleep {for all parties involved}!
Friday Grammie came for a visit and spent some time watching Aiden and Chris. They were thrilled to have her and had so many things to show her when she arrived.
I am hopeful that the rain is out of mother natures system. Wishful thinking, I know but we had a picnic dinner planned with friends for tomorrow and she just isn’t cooperating. Fingers crossed. We need some fresh air and continued sunshine!
