Christmas celebrations

It was a Friday rocked with emotions as the nation experienced the horrible tragedy at Sandy Brook.  As many eluded to, I think all took advantage of squeezing their kids a little tighter, taking in every hug offered and enjoying the innocence of children.  The heart ache of those families is unimaginable and I think we all find it hard to complain about anything as our gripes are so small in comparison.  There is certainly a special place in heaven for all of the angels lost and we pray that those dealing with the loss will find the comfort they need.

I was lucky to have the opportunity to volunteer to lead a cooking demonstration in Aiden’s class on Friday morning.  He has a very vibrant class full of characters.  I saw a quiet side of Aiden that doesn’t often show itself at home.  He makes me one proud Momma and I was thrilled to get to meet his classmates.  I have certainly gained a new appreciation for his teachers as they have one heck of a juggling act and manage it with such grace.  It melted my heart as Aiden proudly introduced me as his Momma and took advantage of every opportunity to sneak over and give me a hug.  As an added bonus I got to see Christopher twice as well.  He was in the community kitchen as well and was also leading his class in line, waving furious to catch my attention.  I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I will have a chance to assist with his buddies as well.  The classrooms are 3-5 year olds and they couldn’t be any cuter.

Last night we enjoyed a fun early Christmas celebration in Marlborough, Ct at Mike’s bosses house.  I was also lucky to have a quiet afternoon to myself as Grammie and Dziadzu scooped up the boys early and had a day of fun planned for them…. special lunches, crafts, gingerbread houses and lots of undivided attention.  I think this is the perfect recipe for an amazing weekend for them! I enjoyed my quiet time and caught up on some phone calls while wrapping all of my Christmas presents.  I LOVE being DONE!!!!  Now I have a week to enjoy, so thank you Mom and Dad!

Aiden and Chris had a sleepover at Grammie and Dziadzu’s as Mike and I had a late night of fun and we headed out early to Belchertown to round up the monkeys before heading to the Ptaszynski annual Christmas party in Thompson, Ct. Aunt Kathy and Uncle Joe were amazing hosts and we are truly enjoyed our time with family.  Aiden and Chris delighted in being the center of everything and worked their magic to enjoy extra juice boxes, sips of soda and dessert.  Tis the season.  They were home late but quickly in bed.  The sign of a good day for all of us!

Here is a sneak peak at one of Aiden and Chris’s Christmas presents that I have been working on.  They LOVE hiding so I finally broke in my new sewing machine {which is amazing…..} and have been busy these past few weeks.  I hope they like them!

Check out my hot date for the Christmas party.  Am I lucky or what?  Perhaps it was a double date with two of my favorite men… check out that expanding belly!

So first of all- you don't even look pregnant in that photo. Looking good!
Second- can you do my shopping for me. I literally haven't even started and have no desire to. Just not into it this year (so weird).
Third- what sewing machine do you have? I'm asking Santa for one for Christmas.
