Ready or not here comes Christmas! I can not believe that tomorrow is Christmas Eve. Mike has been busting his butt working so the boys and I have been staying busy enjoying some holiday crafts and baking, laying low. Poor Chris had a 103-105 fever yesterday and was down and out all day. He took a nap for the first time in probably a year and willingly so. You know they don’t feel well when they ask to go to sleep. Aiden in the meantime enjoyed his “one on one” time with me. He is a busy boy and was more than happy doing play dough for almost 3 hours! Despite wanting to get out to see friends and family and enjoy a holiday party tonight we have decided to stay home and keep our germs to ourselves. There’s no worse feeling then knowing you’ve made someone else sick just in time for the holiday. Today we made some homemade doggie treats for all of the furry friends who so kindly love Aiden and Chris through their rough and tumble play. We’ve also been working on some special Christmas surprises for the grandparents. Always fun!
In light of Chris being under the weather, its been a quiet weekend. Uncle Danny flies in tonight and we are so excited to spend some time with him this week. Grandpa and Auntie Stephie braved it and stopped over for a visit this afternoon. Chris and Aiden were the lucky recipients of new lego trucks from Auntie! Tomorrow, we’re hopeful everyone will be well as we have plans to head to Mamie and Grandpa’s for Christmas Eve and Grammie and Dziadzu’s Christmas afternoon.
This week marks the start of week 23 for little man. Time is flying and as the cold weather sets in after the holidays, I need to get a jump start on the nursery décor and washing my baby goodies. Better to be safe than sorry and with the boys early arrival, I would feel much better being safe. In reading what the week ahead brings its fun to learn that he is now about 11 inches long and weighs just about a pound. In the coming weeks, he will gain about 6 ounces a week! Holy belly! Just for fun, I thought I’d share some stats:
How far along: 23 weeks
Total weight gain: 9ish pounds (as much as with A & C at this point in my pregnancy!)
Maternity clothes? Jeans, yes, but I prefer sweats and longer, stretchier non-maternity wear. I am all about comfort and warmth these days!
Stretch marks: Nope… It was a pure miracle with A & C {and my obsessive lotion applications.} I sure hope he’s good to me!
Highlight of the week: Having big brother Chris feel Little Man move!
Miss anything?: Turkey grinders. It’s mind over matter. Don’t we all want what we know we can’t have?
Movement: Tons. He is a mover and a shaker and I think since there is more room in my belly with only one baby, I am feeling even more movement than I did with Aiden and Chris. Of course it is amazing what you can forget after 4 years!
Cravings: Herbal tea, citrus fruits and shortbread {good thing I have an amazing recipe from Suzy… Thanks Suzy!}
Aversions: None… so thankful that phase has passed {but hasn’t been forgotten}! I am however staying away from coffee at this point since it was an early aversion and something that I have learned to live without.
Looking forward to: My next appointment in a week and seeing the little man again in a little over a month with fingers crossed that the placenta previa is no longer a concern.
