Where do babies come from?

I will be the first to admit that school vacation has thrown me for a loop.  I wake up having to remind myself what day it is and what we have planned.  Like their Momma, Aiden and Chris thrive on routine so this week has been a bit of a challenge for all of us but we have been so grateful for the extra time with family and friends, long mornings in PJ’s and discovery of early morning cartoons and down time {I caved and it felt good!}

It has been great spending time with family near and far who have traveled from Florida, North Carolina, Illinois and Michigan.  We were sorry to see Uncle Danny go but are very excited knowing that he has another trip planned already to meet our little man when he arrives.  What a good Uncle!  We also loved seeing our friends the Schillings.  The boys were in their glory with the “big girls” who were so patient and took such great care of them so that Suzy and I could catch up.  We headed to a school play date with Aiden’s classmates at Northwest Park and had fun seeing the kids interact, wrestle and be the crazy little ones that they are.  We braved the storm yesterday and went to the last of the Christmas parties at Grammie and Dziadzu’s in Belchertown, so thankful that there weren’t too many crazy drivers on the road and grateful for a fun afternoon with family.

Check out these cuties.  It’s a combination of 6 of Aiden’s classmates and a few older siblings

What has your week brought? I  hope everyone has found time to relax and enjoy…. after all, that’s what it’s all about!

I am embarking on a new project and will post pictures hopefully soon.  Nothing major just some shuffling of furniture and an attempt to start to think about a plan for the nursery.  Speaking of which, this week is week 24.  I am feeling great and growing quickly.  Tomorrow I’m off for my 4 week check up and am anxious to hear the heartbeat and schedule our next ultrasound.  I am hoping this snow melts SOON so that I can get back outside for my daily walks once school starts back.  My treadmill is thinking of retiring SOON so I am keeping my eyes on CraigsList for a replacement and I have my fingers crossed that I can get through a week or two with my oldie but goodie.  This Momma needs to stay in shape for everyone’s good :)  It’s not easy to stay motivated but I’m going to give it a go.

Aside from the holidays and down time, I’ll share my favorite story of the week.  Christopher is very into my expanding belly, babies and all things related.  I felt a cool breeze as Chris lifted my shirt to say hello to the baby through his “peek hole” {aka my belly button}.  Chris then proceed to play hide and seek, covering my belly button so that the baby couldn’t seem him.  Cocking his head, he asked,”Momma do they stick a needle in your button to get the baby out?”  Humm… where to head with this one….. I always try to be honest so I said no, usually the babies come from the Mommies privates or the Dr. helps to get the baby out of the Mommies belly.  {Maybe I was too brave and should have played dumb.} Chris piped, “Oh you mean the baby comes out of your butt butt?”  Again, my chance to say, yeah maybe but instead I replied well not exactly.  Chris then said “oh they come out of your vagina’s?  I guess we are lucky and have more than one {would that be considered lucky??? not sure?}??!!?  A simple yes and the conversation ended… not soon enough!

Cheers to 2013 and all of the wonder it has in store!
