I swear I had wings for just a few minutes yesterday when we heard nothing but good news. Little man is doing well. Really well… The placenta previa has corrected itself and will not be an issue going forward! He is also face down and I’ve got my fingers crossed and prayers nightly that he cooperates and stays put although the OB’s don’t really care the position until 36 weeks when they check you again. My blood pressure and all other tests yesterday were in line. Despite a long wait, it was a HUGE relief to hear such good news. I will breath and sleep a bit easier now.
Speaking of sleep, I finally resorted to using a body pillow last night. After several sleepless nights {and blaming it on anxiety about the upcoming appointment} I realized I was foolish to have the pillow and not be using it. The pillow is massive and quite likely justifies the need for a king sized bed, 1/3 for Mike, 1/3 for me and 1/3 for this monstrous pillow! Its silly but I hesitated to use it because you have to commit to staying in one position all night long. I am so non-committal as I’ve mentioned previously, even when it comes to sleep positions, lol.
Little man is doing well and so are his big brothers! We seem to be over the massive temperamental hump with Aiden and Chris for the time being at least and I am ever SO thankful! Those few rough weeks make the casual verbal battles seem like a breeze.
Tuesday the boys had a treat of going out to lunch with Mamie, Grandpa and Great Grammie Tag. They then headed to Mamies for some playtime while Mike and I headed to the OB’s office for our ultrasound and visit. I am so thankful for Mamie’s help and the special time for my soon to be four year olds. We’ve had such a good week behavior wise that we decided today was a great day for Aiden and Chris to spend one of their hard earned/saved dollars at the dollar store. They delight in getting to pick anything there and I adore how difficult the decision is for them. They bring their own money and are learning about saving and paying for things all by themselves. It’s been a great adventure and a great way to spend an hour on a drizzly afternoon. Today’s shopping extravaganza yielded a plastic cheetah for Chris and a 6 pack of blue, sugar filled drinks for Aiden {wouldn’t the dentist be proud!}. They couldn’t have been happier and I was one proud Momma {although the remaining sugar filled drinks may have to magically disappear tonight}. They were well behaved, patient {although Aiden didn’t want to wait for me as I look at the birthday decorations and blurted out “Haaaa, Mommmm, you’re wasting my time here…..” Not sure where he got that one from!} and grateful. They even received a compliment from an elderly woman who observed them as they made their difficult decisions. To them, the sky is the limit at the Dollar Store and for me, it’s great not having to tell them that any one item costs too much.
After an hour long conversation with my work IT gentleman, my computer is finally fixed and pictures can finally be loaded. Hipp hipp hooray! Without further ado….
Here is a sneak peak of the boys awesome penmanship. This is their first time writing their whole name unassisted.
We’ve been working on the nursery. More pictures to come soon but for now, kudos to my three special helpers/crib assemblers!
And last but not least, some cuteness for you as Aiden and Chris discovered that the babies vintage hamper makes for an awesome hiding place!
