I can’t believe we are nearing April! Isn’t it the best feeling to wake up to the bird chirping, sun shining and robins already busy outside your bedroom window? It’s the little things but I am in heaven and what a perfect weekend we have ahead for Easter celebrations.  We have only one small patch of snow remaining in our backyard and I feel confident that with 50 degree weather over the next few days, we’ll soon forget it was ever there.

This marks week 36 for my pregnancy.  I feel great!  The little guy has dropped which has made me much more comfortable.  I experienced “cankles” for the first time Sunday after several hours in the car but am thankful that they’re on their way out.  Perhaps they felt just how unwelcome they were!  My crumb catcher belly has been doing it’s job and is growing like a basketball.  I don’t know why but I’ve had 3 strangers stop me within the last 2 days to inquire about my torpedo and I think they may be the first 3 yet.  It’s safe to assume he’s no longer hiding.  I had my appointment this week on Tuesday and everything was in check.  He’s growing and measuring right on target, I’ve gained another 2 pounds within the last 2 weeks and we’re just thankful for each day that he stays put and continues to grow.  It’s kind of exciting as each day going forward is a whole new experience for me since Aiden and Chris were already 2 weeks old at this point in my pregnancy.  My appointments are now weekly going forward and while he’s content, I’m content.  I was thrilled to confirm that he is head down and ready to go.  Woo hoo.

Aiden and Chris had a fun afternoon with Mamie on Tuesday and helped her do some birthday shopping for Mike.  Somehow they lucked out and came home with new fireman rain boots and umbrellas for themselves. Lucky, lucky gents.

Today Dziadzu came to hold down the fort at our house while Mike and I attended parent teacher conferences for both boys.  It’s always nice to hear that they are “doing well and are a pleasure to have in class.”  It’s also always a reality check to hear that you have two little men taking after you, when both teachers comment that they are the silent partners in causing trouble.  I believe one teacher’s actual comment was that you would never guess that he was “naughty” until you sit back, observe and realize he is planting the ideas and quietly participating.  My legacy continues….. Despite their fiery personalities, they were both highly commended and Mike and I couldn’t be prouder.  Thank you Dziadzu for spending the afternoon entertaining our little rascals.

Tomorrow we look forward to a fun play date followed by some much needed time outside, soaking up the sun.  I can’t wait! Spring time, here we come!
