The flu

I am ashamed to admit that I have now started and walked away from my “Welcome Baby Jacob” blog entry at least 5 times. It is coming… I promise…. Jake is now 10 days old and is such a little joy.  He is easy going and is fitting in as any mother would dream.  Aiden and Chris are adjusting well.  While they haven’t had the courage to hold him yet, they have plenty of loving for “Baby Jakey” and can often be seen sitting next to him, watching him, singing to him or of course ignoring him completely.

While we’re still settling in, forgetting what sleep feels like and finding ourselves making silly little mistakes, we have also been taken down by the flu.  Poor Chris was hit hard last Thursday and hasn’t improved much since.  Jake and I were victims last night and are wishing and hoping that it passes quickly.  Its scary having a newborn and germs. Jake has been nursing and has been a super trooper but this flu thing has the poor little guys belly all our of sorts.  Certainly not a fun way to spend your 10th day of life. I have also been struggling with lack of appetite and as such, my “supply” is suffering.  Hoping this is short lived!

We’ve had lot of a visitors and fun and I will share the details, I promise… but for now we’re big on lots of snuggles and laying low and that is what I’m off to do.

Here are a few pictures of the big brothers meeting our special little guy for the first time,
