Boy, it officially feels like summer when I write the date and realize that it’s July 1st. July??? Seriously??? When did this happen?
I have a confession. Often times I find myself neglecting the boys of small playtime pleasures due to the mess that I will be left cleaning as a result. Today was an exception. They played outside. It poured rain so hard that they couldn’t hear me calling their names from the front porch. I didn’t stand a chance with Jacob in a front pack and no umbrella and they knew it! They had a blast and I couldn’t have been happier with my decision to let go for once. Life is amazing when it includes a little puddle jumping time.
We don’t need clocks in our house. Since 3 weeks old poor little man Jake has a total meltdown. Total. As in no one can hear over his screaming. He my breaks my heart {and our ears.} I am hopeful that we are like many who experience some relief around 3 months because I just cant stand not being able to help…. At all. We assume it’s colic. Real tears, heart felt whimpers and coughing/choking fits. Welcome to our nigh time routine. The poor little guy could be sound asleep to wake at 7 pm screaming. I’m surprised the neighbors haven’t called DSS and for as rough as the nights are, our days are joyful. Filled with genuine full faced grins. So if I haven’t been blogging, this is why. My old lady hips are busy doing deep knee bends to lessen his discomfort. Oh how I can not wait to have Mike home again at night. We’re down to weeks of work left on the house… and counting…. Can you tell I am ready??!!?? Sorry to be a downer, I’ll blame it on the rain!
Here are a few pictures that I neglected to share earlier.
